Indiana Convention Center: floor loads, rigging and technical services N094 | https://glmedia.tech/technical-help/indiana-convention-center-indianapolis-cargas-rigging-servicios/ This guide draws on the official ICCLOS Facility Guide and current exhibitor pages. The guide also covers Lucas Oil Stadium; stadium figures and routes do not apply to Indiana Convention Center. The event contract, coordinator and plans determine the actual setup. Identify the contracted hall or room; confirm floor and wheel loads, freight access, labor, hanging points, assigned power and data. General manual figures do not grant approval for a particular design. 1. Spaces and areas The Facility Guide separates Indiana Convention Center from Lucas Oil Stadium. Halls A–K and Sagamore Ballroom are ICC areas; stadium tables have different capacities. Published occupancy and ceiling height are references to check against the contracted plan and approved use. 2. Floors and wheels The manual publishes different design loads by area. For 100 PSF areas it also gives per-wheel limits by axle-wheel spacing; it warns that a loaded forklift concentrates weight on its front wheels. Confirm actual weight, footprint, protection and the full route with the venue. ICC area | Published load | How to use it Halls A–C and F–K | 500 PSF | Floor design value; review supports and wheels. Halls D–E | 350 PSF | Different from the other halls. Sagamore Ballroom 1–7 and meeting/public areas on floors 1 and 2 | 100 PSF | Review routes, protection and wheel loads. 3. Docks and freight ICCLOS is not a general receiving location for exhibitor freight. Coordinate shipments with the decorator or general service contractor and the correct dock; the freight page identifies 5 South Missouri Street for ICC, not the stadium. On halls A/B ramps the manual requires a 10 ft fire lane to remain clear. 4. Rigging and labor The manual assigns installation, rigging, operation and removal of sound, theatrical lighting, projection, cameras and AV to the Sound & Lighting Department (IATSE Local 30), directly or through its labor. It also covers unloading and lift use for that work. Event exceptions may apply and need written confirmation from the coordinator. No point-load schedule was found in the reviewed sections. Decision | Published rule | Before move-in AV and rigging | Sound & Lighting / IATSE Local 30; possible event exceptions. | Confirm labor, scope and rigging plot in writing. Connections and power | ICCLOS connects building systems and supplies ordered utilities. | Approve location, circuit, protection and order. Internet and data | Smart City is exclusive. | Order production service and backup plan. Freight | Decorator and dock assigned by event. | Agree on consignment, move-in and schedule. 5. Power and connections ICCLOS personnel make connections to building systems, including sound, video and utilities. The manual describes hall electrical floor pockets, but this does not reserve a location or power for an event. The current order page requests a layout for special placement; confirm circuits, connectors, protection and timing. 6. Internet and data Smart City is listed as the exclusive internet and data provider. Public WiFi is not a production connection with agreed bandwidth, network and redundancy. Coordinate any private wireless equipment against current venue policy. 7. Safety and changes Keep aisles, exits and emergency equipment clear. ICCLOS may require plans and documentation for its permits, and a hazardous activity may require a safety plan. The code, Fire Marshal, organizer and contract can add controls. Do not assume an initial approval covers later changes. 8. Event package Collect the contracted plan, schedule, dock route, support and wheel weights, rigging plot, authorized labor, power/data orders, safety material and written answers on changes. Separate venue confirmations from organizer and authority decisions. Does a 500 PSF hall rating authorize any LED wall or vehicle? No. Halls A–C and F–K are listed at 500 PSF and D–E at 350 PSF. Wheel loads, supports, routes and distribution require venue review. A floor rating does not certify rigging or point capacity. Can an outside vendor connect and operate AV independently? The manual assigns AV installation, rigging, operation and removal to the Sound & Lighting Department or labor hired through it, and reserves connections to building systems for ICCLOS. Event-specific exceptions may apply; obtain written scope from the coordinator. Reviewed October 18, 2026.
