Macon Convention Center: production LED, docks, floor and power N080 | https://glmedia.tech/technical-help/macon-convention-center-led-muelle-energia/ The Edgar H. Wilson Convention Center is at 220 Coliseum Drive, Macon-Bibb County, Georgia. This guide covers the convention center and Exhibit Halls; the adjacent Coliseum and City Auditorium do not automatically supply applicable capacities or approvals. Establish the room, route and floor protection first. The Exhibit Hall is described as carpeted: do not take motorized vehicles or equipment onto that surface. Agree dock unloading and obtain written floor, power and rigging details for the actual assembly. Where should LED modules, racks and flight cases enter? Loading Information directs exhibitors to the rear dock off Coliseum Court or Hall B roll-up doors when authorized. It prohibits unloading at the main rotunda entrance. The FAQ allows small meeting room and ballroom materials carried by hand or a carrier with up to 2 wheels; do not treat that as an approved route for the whole production. Confirm specific access and route before dispatching the truck. The lessee must appoint a representative for move-in and move-out inspection. Prepare pre-existing-condition photos, package details, schedule and unloading sequence; clear access and keep the ramp unobstructed. Dock passes are not valid during move-in/move-out. The 17 spaces by the retaining wall allow 15 minutes for loading personal vehicles, not truck parking or case storage. Can a forklift place a display on the carpet? Not on a carpeted area: the venue prohibits motorized vehicles, forklifts and gas or electric carts there. Exhibit Halls describes a carpeted floor; agree a movement method compatible with the route and protect floors and door hardware. Forklift availability does not authorize operation in every area. Loading Information requires carpet shield or masonite protection during move-in, show and move-out; unusually heavy items may require additional plywood. Protection does not increase structural capacity. Submit load per support and wheel, base sizes, ballast and route. These pages do not provide roof WLL or concentrated floor limits that would authorize a suspended or supported LED display through your own calculation. Do area and included services settle the AV design? The Exhibit Hall is listed as 30,800 ft², 220 × 140 ft, divisible into 22,400 and 8,400 ft². Its introduction mentions up to 2,000 attendees while the table lists 3,080 theater-style: do not select the higher capacity without an accepted drawing. Account for stage, LED, control, storage, access and circulation when reviewing the actual layout. Included services distinguish exhibit from non-exhibit events and depend on inventory. House lighting and event-hours HVAC do not mean show lighting or dedicated LED power. Additional power, AV requirements and distribution are quoted separately. Verify circuit, voltage, phases, current, connector, protection, testing hours and connection personnel; do not use an order identifying another venue. Preferred-provider listings do not establish exclusivity. What should be checked before adding haze, lasers or flown LED? Amenities lists charges for plan review, inspection and Fire Watch where applicable, plus a penalty if the plan is received within 14 days of the event. It does not publish the amount or a full procedure for each effect there. Obtain the schedule, authority and project classification without treating that threshold as an approval guarantee. Prepare a revised drawing with exits, fire equipment, LED, proposed supports or points, control and effect zones. Add equipment, fluid or product, location, hours and rehearsals. Separate venue technical acceptance from authority permits; do not transfer a Coliseum approval to the convention center. If a review is missing or the location changes, hold the affected part and operate without that effect or suspension until resolved. Can crates be stored or a lift parked in the hall? Loading Information prohibits cases or crates stored in the building or dock and lift equipment stored in the Exhibit Hall. Empties go on the trailer; a bone yard within leased space requires prior approval. Agree storage without blocking circulation or assuming an empty corner is authorized. What does the venue require of a forklift operator? Certification and credentials, a backup alarm and horn; it requires using the horn at roll-up doors and chocking trailer wheels during loading or unloading. Those conditions do not override the carpet restriction. Establish the permitted area and route before hiring the equipment. Are 14 days the laser permit deadline? No. Amenities ties that threshold to penalties for late plan receipt, not a laser-specific deadline. Confirm equipment, classification, applicable state and federal documents and event acceptance; a quotation or reservation does not prove authorization. Documentation checked on October 18, 2026. Confirm the revision and conditions of the contracted space; published data do not establish installation acceptance or replace permits.
