Moscone San Francisco: points, bridles, House Head and power N081 | https://glmedia.tech/technical-help/moscone-san-francisco-rigging-house-head-energia/ Moscone Center comprises North, South and West in San Francisco, California. Administration is at 747 Howard Street; confirm the contracted room’s building and freight entrance. Hall E and Hall F have different rigging limits. Vertical loads, bridles, perimeter points and signage members are not interchangeable. How do hanging, rigging and their limits differ? Rules define hanging as a dead hang from an approved point up to 1,000 lb; truss, bridling, side loads or more than 1,000 lb are rigging. Drawings for items weighing 1,000 lb or more go to Theatrical Services and Event Management at least 30 days before move-in: exactly 1,000 lb is included. North Hall E allows 1,000 lb per vertical point, without bridles. North Hall F allows 2,000 lb except perimeter rows AA/Z at 200 lb; 45–90 degree bridles are limited to 500 lb. Another section’s general limit cannot increase the room limit. Use CAD and full reactions rather than adding point ratings independently. Can outside AV work without a House Head? General sessions or productions with staging, lighting, large-scale video/sound, foggers/hazers or pyrotechnics require the venue House Head regardless of AV supplier. This coordinates IATSE Local 16, not effect permitting. Moscone Theatrical Services is exclusive for North Wedding Cake Truss, South Lobby Motorized High Truss and West alcove blackout drape. Submit production schedules 45 days before first move-in, including truss, chairs, staging, rehearsals, strike and airwalls. Standard hours are 07:00–23:00; outside hours may incur extra rental/labor. Confirm calls and acceptance before changing the sequence. What must be checked for floors, electricity and effects? Freestanding structures 12 ft or higher without an engineer’s stamp require tie-off under Rigging Rules; drape lines 16 ft or higher require tie-off. Submit bases, ballast, wheels and routes for separate floor review. Do not improvise attachments to airwall tracks, sprinklers or building services. The Licensee’s designated Electrical Contractor supplies/distributes power; installation at 20 A or more requires that contractor. In theatrical settings IATSE may distribute already supplied power, not in every environment. Confirm voltage, phases and connections. Lasers, haze and pyrotechnics need effect/authority-specific conditions as well as House Head involvement; without acceptance, operate without emission. Is Wedding Cake Truss a general LED point? Its published limit is 500 lb and use is exclusive to Theatrical Services. Do not confuse it with Hall E/F points or acceptance of the complete screen, hardware and cabling load. Confirm the revision and appendices for the contracted space. Published data do not establish installation acceptance or replace permits or inspections.
