Seattle Convention Center: Arch and Summit rigging, floors and haze N081 | https://glmedia.tech/technical-help/seattle-convention-center-arch-summit-rigging/ Seattle Convention Center comprises Arch at 705 Pike, Arch at 800 Pike and Summit at 900 Pine Street, Seattle, Washington. This is one campus; ratings do not transfer between buildings. Identify building, level and point. A Summit point may be within a grouped zone with a lower rating than the general steel. How do Arch and Summit ratings differ? Rigging Overview dated 2025-05-06 lists Arch 705 ballrooms 6ABCE heavy points at 1,000 lb without bridles; Arch 800 Tahoma has 1,000 lb points every 15 ft. Other levels/meeting rooms may have no load-bearing points. Summit Exhibit Hall lists 2,500 lb vertical static points; Flex Hall and Ballroom distinguish 2,500 lb points from grouped 1,000 lb points on the map, with minimum 15 ft separation. Use CAD and include LED, motors, truss, cables and dynamic loads. Non-vertical capacity in the specified Summit areas is limited to 40% of vertical rating at a maximum 45 degree angle; do not apply it to Arch. Do not treat 2,500 lb as permission at any point or multiply points without checking groups. What staffing and submission dates apply? Rigging planning/documentation requires ETCP/engineering qualifications according to scope. The supervisor must be accepted by SCC; riggers need approved-list status and wristbands. Encore is exclusive for ballroom aerial rigging; outside AV does not remove review. Supported installations above 12 ft trim require certified-rigger inspection and acceptance. The 2025-10-22 Event Planning Guide requests rigging plans at 60 days; Rigging Overview states 45 days with different fee/response categories. Plan around 60 days and confirm the contractual calendar, separating review, inspection and pricing. Do not start work on an unapproved altered revision. What differs for floors, power and haze? Floor tables distinguish Arch halls 4ABCDEF at 250 lb/ft²; Summit Exhibit Hall 1–2 at 350 lb/ft²; Summit Flex Hall at 250 lb/ft² and Ballroom 1–3 at 100 lb/ft². Also check wheels, supports, protection and route. Edlen is exclusive for temporary/supplemental electricity and utilities; confirm voltage, phases, current and connection in the order. Haze/fog is limited to general sessions with advance approval, water-based fluid and usage schedules including rehearsals submitted at least seven days ahead; fire-system monitoring may be needed. Booths and other facility areas are not permitted. Confirm lasers and pyrotechnics separately with SCC and Seattle Fire Department; without acceptance, operate without emission. Can the included meeting-room outlets power a booth? Not automatically. The guide describes two 20 A, 120 V outlets per rented meeting room but excludes trade-show/registration use from that complimentary service. Confirm actual use and the Edlen order rather than inferring included power from an outlet. Confirm the revision and appendices for the contracted space. Published data do not establish installation acceptance or replace permits or inspections.
