ATEM SDI Extreme ISO: prepare switching and recording

Evaluate an SDI conference production, connections, files and handover. Preparation, alternatives and equipment, configuration or operation inquiries.

Identity, preparation and show decisions

Confirm the model before building the system

ATEM SDI Extreme ISO has eight 3G-SDI inputs and four SDI outputs. Its H.264 ISO and program files are HD, not Ultra HD recordings of those inputs. It differs from SDI Pro ISO and the HDMI-based Mini Extreme ISO G2.

Request a label and connector photo, installed version and offered system list. This guide supports a proposal; it does not confirm inventory or included accessories. If the supplier changes the model, review routes and deliverables before accepting the substitution.

Conference cameras and presentation

Proposed use: two cameras and a slide computer, with program for streaming and material for later editing. Before selecting adapters, list each source’s actual output and the format accepted by its receiver. An HDMI presentation needs suitable conversion to enter this SDI architecture.

Assign program and monitoring tasks to outputs according to the unit and version. Check the picture at the receiver: connector count does not establish independent compositions. For room displays, coordinate required content with the display lead; this equipment guide does not redefine the LED canvas.

Prepare rehearsal and files

Agree which inputs need separate recordings, what final mix is delivered, who receives it and the deadline. Identify the media and cable by model, available space and expected duration. Verify media selection and recording controls against current documentation before operation; this guide does not supply an unverified menu path.

We propose an identifiable test with speech, a clip with sound and several camera cuts. Stop recording correctly and review program, every required input and audio on the editor’s receiving system. Retain the file set and original until copies are accepted; a REC indicator does not replace that review.

If a source or file is missing

Compare the source on a known receiver first, then its path and assigned input. Record exact format, conversion, selected output and where the picture disappears. Change one variable per attempt off air. If program exists but an isolated input is missing, retain files and note settings, version, media and duration before repeating.

For an HDMI-only production, compare an HDMI switcher. For camera originals with other capabilities, evaluate in-camera recording or separate recorders. Include synchronization, audio and file review in the alternative, alongside equipment.

What to send for a proposal

Ask GLMedia about rental, purchase, installation, configuration or operation. Begin with a date or timeframe, venue, approximate duration, source count, platform and files you need. Identify what your team provides; models, availability and scope are confirmed in the proposal.

Can a program recording let us change camera shots afterward?

You can edit the shots retained in the final mix. To choose another angle, preserve that input separately and check that its file and audio are usable. Define this deliverable before the show.

Can another ATEM variant be accepted without reviewing the plan?

Review the substitute model’s inputs, outputs, formats, control, media and files. Similar naming does not confirm the agreed connections or deliverables.
