Bose L1 Pro16: preparation and connections
Powered column, bass base and integrated mixing: prepare the complete system and program before choosing quantities.

Identify and connect
Confirm L1 Pro16, correct base/extension/array and the unit’s supply. Original L1 and Pro32 instructions are not interchangeable. Assemble only the exact manual configuration on a stable surface with protected access.
The mixer has combo channels1/2 and line/Bluetooth channel3. Record source, cable, mute, ToneMatch and System EQ. XLR output is line level, not passive-speaker power. The documented USB-C port is for service, not a USB recording interface.
Test and prepare the offer
Test speech alone, music and transitions at controlled levels. For distortion, check source, mode, level and Signal/Clip before increasing. If music works but speech does not, compare its channel and mute separately.
Compare base/array transport, storage, simultaneous sources, extra console and operator for the quote. Integrated bass may suit the program but does not establish the need or settings for another sub. Start with date, venue, music/speech and photos; quantities and extensions need confirmation.
Questions and decisions
Is ToneMatch a network port?
Do not connect it to a computer network because it looks like RJ-45. Use documented ToneMatch equipment and cable. Identify the additional mixer’s own supply and routing; do not assume every ToneMatch model shares audio/power-link behavior.
Does SPEECH fix a reverberant room?
It is a System EQ setting, distinct from per-channel ToneMatch. Save the state and compare speech in the same locations; neither a preset nor added bass corrects poor distribution. We can assess repositioning or distributed reinforcement with prepared control and alignment.
Can any sub be added through XLR?
Line connection does not confirm levels, filters, polarity or alignment. Identify the exact model/docs and musical program. Request integration and rehearsal; do not copy Pro32 settings or confuse Line Out with speaker power.
