Brompton Tessera T1

Brompton Tessera T1: reusing an LED system

Plan presentations, video, and source changes around a defined canvas and signal path for the event screen.

Model and application

T1 is a Tessera processor with DVI-D input and 1 Gigabit LED output. Image processing depends on the mode; do not transfer S4, S8, or SX40 capabilities merely because software is shared.

Signal and optics

Input
DVI-D; documentation specifies up to 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz. An adapter’s connector shape does not establish compatible timing or color.
Panels
Requires Tessera-compatible panels and their Fixture Pack. Confirm model, receiver, versions, and the existing system project.
Control
Management network and panel outputs serve different functions. DisplayPort supports the local interface, not show video input.

System preparation

  1. Preserve project, versions, and panel association before changing the installation.
  2. Define canvas, crop, and supported format; check whether the active mode supports the intended processing.
  3. Compare pattern, physical topology, and each panel’s placement; record position changes.
  4. Rehearse synchronization and transitions through the full chain; keep working settings.

Planning questions

What do we need to reuse T1 with a rental screen?

Identify panel, receiver, versions, project, and output path along with pixel size and frame rate. Check load and functions against applicable documentation; input resolution is not the pixel count it can send. We can prepare equipment, configuration, and operation for a compatible installation or assess another solution.

Why might scaling be unavailable?

T1 supports scaling in normal operation, but Low Latency disables it along with other features. The manual also states that some nonstandard canvases trigger that mode. Record project and mode before testing; compare content prepared for the canvas or upstream processing if that condition must be retained.

Can a newer processor replace T1 without reconfiguration?

Compare compatible panels, Fixture Pack, project, input, load, and timing first. More outputs or different connectors do not establish functional equivalence or direct project transfer. Prepare recovery and test every destination; when combining processors, review synchronization and total delay.

Must we redraw everything after moving panels?

Save the project and compare which units and connections changed. Panel association must match the physical installation; do not assume the previous topology is correct merely because everything is connected. An identified zone check helps plan reassociation without erasing existing work by trial and error.

Should we update or reset to make panels appear?

First check panel type, Fixture Pack, and versions. Factory reset can delete projects and additional packs; updates also have compatibility prerequisites. Prepare documented work with recovery instead of using reset as live-show diagnosis.

Does the single output support closed-loop backup?

The manual excludes closed loop redundancy on T1 because it has a single output. If continuity is required, assess a compatible backup architecture and rehearsed procedure; a saved project or second source is not complete screen backup.

Checks by symptom

Checks by symptom
Static image in the wrong positionCompare project, association, and actual panel placement.
Motion out of sync across systemsCompare source, reference, modes, and every processor’s delay.
Source has no pictureCompare DVI, format, and converters; separate input signal from panel connection.

Use and safety

Preserve projects and packs before reset, upgrade, or reassociation. Confirm version prerequisites in official documentation.

Prepare rack, ventilation, power, and screen mounting under the exact system’s documentation.
