Identify Quantum 225, software and installed licenses/cards. Pulse, Theatre and DS configurations need their own documentation; an Ethernet connector alone does not provide Dante audio.
Connections and required equipment
Local or compatible rack socket → selected Main/Alt input → processing → aux/group → assigned physical output. Confirm rack transport, card, rate and clock together.
Prepare the system
- Save As New File and preserve the original session externally.
- Record Audio I/O, Audio Sync and physical rack/card inventory.
- Protect outputs before routing, summing or recall tests.
Questions and troubleshooting
A rack input is silent although the channel is named correctly.
A channel label does not select the physical socket.
- Check Audio I/O rack/port configuration and Audio Sync; then compare Main/Alt selection with the actual input socket and meters. Use the exact rack/link manual.
- Verify a known source through one protected route. If missing, preserve socket map and status for support; do not assume any MADI/Optocore/Dante rack works with every installed option.
Monitor buses need combining, but the routing seems insufficient.
Control Groups control channels; they do not mix audio.
- Draw the intended signal flow. The documented Merge Input can add a selected source to a bus; check enable, level and destination without feeding a bus back into itself.
- In rehearsal, verify the result and processing alignment. If the design cannot be verified, keep the original routing and request system review; do not apply an arbitrary forum delay.
A snapshot restores unwanted values or misses assignments.
Check recall boundaries before firing it again.
- Compare global and individual Recall Scope plus channel/CG Safes. Control Group Members covers names/membership; fader recall is a separate scope choice in the referenced version.
- Test in the protected session copy. Snapshot Undo follows the previous recall scope and is not a complete-session recovery guarantee. If results differ, retain the backup and record version/scope for support.
Choose the next check
| Observation | Next check | What to record |
|---|---|---|
| Silent input | Rack/sync/Main-Alt | Socket and meters |
| Monitor sum | Merge path/no loop | Diagram and alignment |
| Unexpected recall | Scope/Safes | Backup and version |
Precautions
- Do not restructure a live session to copy another console’s architecture.
- Coordinate shared preamp gain and phantom.
- No blind reset, firmware change or live session loading as a diagnosis.
