Epson EB-PQ2008B

Epson EB-PQ2008B: projector body, lens, and system

Compare a large-image projection proposal with the lens, signal path, and operation defined for the room.

Model and application

US EB-PQ2008B V11HB01820: laser 3LCD projector with 4K Crystal Motion technology. The lens is optional; the body alone does not determine throw, placement, or a complete delivery.

Signal and optics

Optics
Reference specifications use ELPLM15, which is not included. Other lenses require their own tables and conditions.
Light and signal
Documentation distinguishes Normal from Quiet/Extended. Check HDMI, SDI, and HDBaseT functions and formats for the planned path.

System preparation

  1. Define useful width, content, and lighting; choose the body and lens code before confirming placement.
  2. Check optical distance, shift, focus, mount, and hazard zone for the complete combination.
  3. Test source, input, adapters, and audio destination using the planned format.
  4. Rehearse content and light mode from audience positions; save configuration and agree on source changes and operation.

Planning questions

Is the required lens included?

Epson specifies that the lens is not included. Quote a compatible code for width, distance, and position, plus mounting hardware and accessories; do not choose from the body’s photo.

Do lumens determine screen size?

No: light on the screen, mode, surface, optics, and content matter. Compare demanding slides and audience positions before deciding size.

What does 4K mean on this model?

Epson describes Crystal Motion; the manual describes imaging through pixel shifting. Check supported signal, scaling, and real content without equating input resolution with readability.

Can I reuse a lens from another Epson projector?

Send the lens code and body identification, plus intended width and distance. Compare the EB-PQ2008B official table, installation conditions, and accessories for that combination; the same brand does not establish compatibility. If the lens is supported but its range does not fit the position, assess changing placement, size, or optics before confirming the proposal.

What if there is light but no computer image?

Compare the menu or internal pattern with selected input, computer output, and a known cable. Add extenders/converters individually and check format before resetting settings.

What can we discuss before a final plan?

Date, photos, approximate width, content, and possible projector location let us compare rental or purchase and installation, setup, rehearsal, and operation. Identify body, lens, screen, signal, and tasks in the proposal.

Checks by symptom

Checks by symptom
Washed-out textLight, mode, surface, and a back-row sample.
Lens not recognizedCompatible code, status, and official table; do not force the mechanism.
Available lens cannot fit the imageCheck code, aspect ratio, and distance table; compare placement or optics without forcing the mechanism.

Use and safety

Optical hazard zones depend on body and lens. Review the official diagram and beam-access control with the installer before choosing height and circulation; do not look into the lens.

Maintain ventilation and correct power; verify mounting hardware for the complete combination. Do not open the laser assembly.
