ListenTALK LK-1: groups and questions on tours
Define the leader, listeners and question destination before handing out units.
Ask about rental, purchase or integration
Tell us the use, date and venue, even with an approximate brief. We can assess equipment, integration, preparation and technical support. Configuration, availability and terms are confirmed in the proposal.
Exact model and system accessories
LK-1 is a ListenTALK transceiver. Identify LK-1-A0 for North America; do not substitute E0 or J0 regional units without validation. LKR-11 and LKR-12 are receivers, not equivalent talk-capable units. List device, battery, personal listening accessory, leader microphone and charging in the offer.
The specification identifies CTIA TRRS headset connection and micro-USB or compatible docking charging. Similar connectors do not establish microphone or charger compatibility. Test accessory and speech; nominal runtime is not a full-day guarantee.
Prepare the workflow and handout
- Assign leader, subleader where needed and participants; record firmware and region. Save an existing system configuration before changes.
- Create the group using its manual. Choose listen-only, reply-to-leader or group discussion. Test where a question arrives, not just the Talk button.
- If questions fail, compare permitted mode and talkback occupancy before deleting the group. For a single faulty unit, compare accessory, charge and group membership with a known unit.
- Walk the route; agree charging, spares, manufacturer-directed accessory cleaning, handout and returns. Start listening volume low and explain operation to each person.
Which solution should we assess?
Tours with questions, human interpretation and assisted listening are distinct services. Confirm exact mode and signal path before promising languages; the device does not translate automatically. Compare receivers for listening only, transceivers for participants and other distribution where needed. Start with date, venue, route and approximate need.
More setup questions
Does Talk always address the whole group?
It depends on role and leader mode. Rehearse listening and responses with actual stations; an active button does not establish the voice destination.
What if visitors join later?
Plan units, accessories and a person to add them outside an intervention. Verify listening and response permissions before handout.
