QSC KS118
KS118 is a powered subwoofer for system integration; it does not replace the speakers reproducing speech.
Ask about rental or technical support
Start with date, venue and approximate needs. We assess options, configuration and operation; availability and terms are confirmed in the proposal.
Model and connections
Line inputs A/B have corresponding full-range XLR pass-through outputs. The sub’s own filtering does not make those outputs a high-pass feed for tops. Record crossover, delay, DEEP, Cardioid mode and scene first.
Prepare and check
Map console→sub/tops and control owners. Check power, ventilation, handling and exact supports; rehearse speech/music at protected levels and leave a verified operating scene.

Questions and decisions
What does it add to a gala with music?
Separate speech, background music and DJ/band segments. Compare the intended program with tops alone and a designed bass extension. A sub can extend low-frequency reproduction but cannot fix distant microphone pickup or poor rear-room coverage. Agree listening areas, required level and venue restrictions; count/placement follow the system, not attendance.
Can it work with another family’s tops?
Confirm top inputs, filters and control. KS118 pass-through is full range, so do not assume filtered top feeds: their own filter or suitable external processing may be needed. Have the responsible technician compare polarity, level and arrival using the same reference, separately and together. Do not copy another brand’s presets or select cardioid without its documented arrangement.
