RCF ART 932-A

Active PA for speech and music: check signal and distribution before asking for more volume.

Explore rental, purchase or technical support

Start with date, venue, intended use and a rough idea. We identify equipment, preparation and operation with open details; availability, compatibility and terms are confirmed in the proposal.

Model and connections

Model
ART 932-A
Input / Output
XLR/TRS line / XLR
DSP
Linear / Boost / Stage; soft limiter

Comfortable front rows and clear speech at the rear

Compare repositioning, distributed points with prepared alignment or a different system. Catalog coverage does not set attendance or guarantee the back of a room. For DJ/band use, assess a compatible sub and measured integration; a sub does not fix intelligibility.

Show preparation

  1. Identify ART 932-A, unit power requirements and line source; preserve ventilation and approved supports.
  2. With destinations protected, record sensitivity, level and preset; test a known source first.
  3. Compare speech/music at front, middle and rear; agree operation, transitions and continuity.

Questions and solutions

The speaker powers up but speech is missing: where should I start?

Trace source, console bus, cable, speaker input and level. Compare a known source/cable at protected level. Another speaker cannot fix missing console signal; if signal reaches the input but fails later, record that stage and indicators for review.

Is input sensitivity the volume setting to use every time?

No. The sheet lists -2/+4dBu and the series receives line signal; match the selector/level to the actual output. Do not copy knob positions. A mixer can prepare microphones and music; do not assume a multi-source mixer is built into this cabinet.

The limiter acts as I turn up: should I keep raising the console?

Protection is not a target operating condition. Check earlier clipping, bass demand and required level; reduce demand and preserve ventilation. If results remain inadequate, assess distribution or another system. Persistent shutdown needs service, not internal repair.

Will Boost make rear speech clearer?

Linear, Boost and Stage are documented choices, not universal coverage fixes. Compare suitable processing with real speech at listening positions; more bass does not establish clarity. If front is excessive and rear weak, review geometry/distribution before blind EQ.

Does the XLR output create a separate zone mix?

An extra connector does not create another mix. Document the program sent/received by each destination. A room needing speech without music requires separate feeds at source; shared program still needs planned link, level and alignment. Verify both areas before the event.

Do two ART 932-A speakers and a sub define the installation?

Location, power, signal, supports and adjustment remain. Identify exact sub/crossover/path and measure integration; do not copy another system’s delay. Stand or suspension requires documented accessories and installation validation, not just a threaded point or catalog figure.
