ROE Carbon CB8: pixel map, panel variants and T4 frame

Ask GLMedia about rental options for an LED screen system. We review availability, configuration, and alternatives for your event.

Which panel does this guide cover?

With the date, location, and intended use, we can review which equipment and combination can be offered. You can inquire before measurements, drawings, or the final schedule are ready.

The ROE Visual Carbon CB8 is an LED panel for large event and touring displays. The main reference here is the original full-size Solid panel. CB8 Half, Transparent and Carbon MarkII are separate configurations.

ROE describes T4 as a frame family for CB and MC panels. Confirm the actual frame variant and connection hardware for the proposed CB8 assembly; family compatibility does not establish a complete approved kit.

Panel variants and connections

Original CB8 Solid
8.33 mm pitch; 72 × 144 pixels; 600 × 1200 × 72 mm; 12.68 kg per panel before touring frame and accessories. Reference brightness 5000 nit; refresh 3840 Hz; 1/6 scan.
Variants to separate
Full Transparent: 600 × 1200 × 70 mm, 10.9 kg and 23% transparency. Half Solid: 600 × 600 × 72 mm, 72 × 72 pixels and 7.05 kg. Do not reuse full-panel weight or height for every tile.
Power and data
Full Solid reference: 430/220 W maximum/average per panel. Manual: AC 100–240 V, 50–60 Hz; data cables use etherCON and power options include True1/adaptors. Identify actual connectors and qualified feeder design.
Control platform
CB8 documentation lists Brompton and Evision. Select the processor matching the installed receiving hardware; broader Carbon-family control lists do not establish CB8 compatibility.

What the system needs

Provide a compatible processor, validated receiver definition, pixel map, tested source/data cables and qualified electrical distribution. Specify full versus half, solid versus transparent and the panel generation.

For T4, identify frame size/orientation, connection parts, support, complete weight and the applicable structural report. Do not substitute Air Frame data or the bare panel weight for a T4 assembly.

Prepare the system

  1. Record panel/frame labels, receiver and firmware. Preserve the starting processor project. Compare the physical chain with the planned tile order before editing.
  2. Have qualified personnel approve mounting and AC distribution. Inspect accessible cables and panel edges. Connect the source to the processor, then follow the verified panel data path.
  3. For a Tessera-equipped panel, compare detected strings with the patch plan before association. In rehearsal, show cabinet identifiers and a border, then solid colors at suitable brightness.

Operating questions

How do I calculate a canvas without confusing meters and pixels?

Use each actual tile resolution. Example only: 6 columns × 3 rows of upright full Solid panels, with no gaps, give 72 × 6 = 432 pixels wide and 144 × 3 = 432 pixels high. The physical area is 3.6 × 3.6 m.

That example is square; it is not a 16:9 canvas. Prepare the content fit in the upstream video system without stretching it. Then check processor and receiver capacity for each actual port; the total alone does not validate the distribution.

Does a T4 frame specification apply to every CB8 layout?

No. Identify the exact T4 size and orientation, panel variant, connectors and supports. The T4 family includes different frame sizes; a value for T4S is not automatically the weight of another assembly.

Have a competent structural professional assess complete load, ballast where required and environmental conditions. A maximum height on the product page is conditional, not an instruction for a new layout. Do not extrapolate from Air Frame or MarkII data.

One section is black after patching. What can I check without opening a panel?

Check the source, processor blackout and detected receiver count. Note the last working tile and the first missing tile on the planned chain. Inspect accessible data connectors; during a planned test substitute one known-good compatible data lead.

For Tessera receivers, compare detection with the project association and canvas position. Restore the intended verified route one change at a time. Do not turn a forum report of an in-show replacement into permission for hot swapping, climbing or suspended repair.

Power, environment and installation

The original CB8 page lists IP65 and operation from −20 to +45 °C. This does not authorize wet electrical connection or outdoor use of every connected device. Match electrical and connector protection to the actual installation.

The manufacturer requires qualified installation, grounding and equipment condition checks. After prolonged humid storage, follow its applicable conditioning procedure before normal full-brightness operation. Isolate AC before service.

Support, ballast, wind limits and safe access require the matching manual and approved structural design. Keep damaged connectors or panels out of use; do not open equipment or change firmware as generic diagnosis.

Manufacturer documentation

Consulted October 22, 2026. CB8 reference values are per panel. The pixel example is calculated from stated assumptions; it is not a tested screen or a structural/port-capacity approval. No equipment photograph is reproduced.
