Shure AD4D: conference RF links and mixing
Prepare two Axient Digital channels with compatible components and a traceable audio path.
Ask about rental, purchase or integration
Tell us the use, date and venue, even with an approximate brief. We can assess equipment, integration, preparation and technical support. Configuration, availability and terms are confirmed in the proposal.
Case 23: define the critical-conference system
AD4D is a two-channel Axient Digital receiver, distinct from AD4Q and analog Axient AXT400. List regional SKU/band, supported AD/ADX transmitters for the version, microphones/capsules, antennas/distribution, power and outputs. ShowLink and spectrum management need their own supported components/functions; the Axient name does not include them.
Map voice → transmitter → receiver RF → analog or Dante output → mixer/bus → room, remote and recording. A separate remote mix excludes its own return. RF reception does not create that mix. Compare wired microphones for fixed positions with coordinated wireless for movement and an explicitly scoped backup.
Case 24: transmitter and receiver will not link
- Keep configuration and record both bands, transmission mode, versions, channel and exact message. AXT400 and Axient Digital are different systems. Coordinate a lawful available frequency for the venue.
- Select the correct channel and perform AD4D IR Sync; confirm Sync Success, then RF and audio. Check the transmitter slot to avoid unintentionally replacing an existing assignment.
- For an encryption mismatch, verify settings and complete authorized sync while retaining protection. A new key needs resync; RF encryption does not extend to Dante audio. Do not disable it as a routine test.
- With RF but no voice check mute, input/accessory and receiver audio meter before output patch. Local audio with a silent destination means check mic/line or Dante subscription/clock. Keep evidence and schedule unsupported-version maintenance off-show.
Preparation and proposal
Rehearse every voice at receiver, mixer and destinations, speaker movement and agreed recovery. Evaluate rental, purchase, RF coordination, integration and operation from date, venue and approximate voices. Confirm components, compatibility and availability in the proposal; a receiver alone does not guarantee whole-event continuity.
More setup questions
Does every Axient transmitter work?
No. Identify digital system, model, band and supported versions. The family name does not prove compatibility with analog Axient.
Should I remove encryption when it will not link?
Not routinely. Check messages, settings and documented sync while preserving agreed protection.
