Model and application
- Receiver
- ANX4
- Axient Digital maximum
- 16 channels, conditional
- ULX-D maximum
- 24 channels, conditional
- Output
- Dante / AES67
- Management
- Wireless Workbench / ShureCloud
The two wireless families are alternative operating modes. Read the actual mode, firmware and license status.
Connections and required equipment
RF reception, Shure control and Dante outputs need separate checks. Console control compatibility must be verified for the exact console and versions.
Prepare the system
- Document mode, licensed channel count and antenna bands.
- Use the coordinated RF plan and compatible transmitters.
- Test the intended licensed output and console input before the show.
Questions and troubleshooting
Can I mix Axient Digital and ULX-D transmitters?
Not simultaneously in the documented ANX4 operating modes.
- Compare every transmitter with the selected family and band.
- Plan any mode change with a backup outside live operation.
- If the transmitter belongs to the other family, stop that pairing attempt and use the planned compatible configuration. Verify every required channel’s RF and audio before use; if family/band identification remains uncertain, ask Shure support rather than switching modes live.
Why can I monitor a channel but not send it to the console?
Displayed channels and test monitoring do not confirm licensed output.
- Read license status and the channel output assignment.
- Compare receiver audio, Dante subscription and console input; do not purchase or transfer licenses as a blind test.
- If output is not activated, refer the recorded entitlement to the system administrator without changing the account. If it is activated and receiver audio meters, follow subscription and console patch; verify the intended destination and retain unresolved channel/license states for support.
Does Dante audio mean console remote control works?
Audio transport and device control are distinct.
- Check audio subscriptions separately from Wireless Workbench visibility.
- Verify the exact console integration and firmware documentation before promising gain or battery control.
- If Dante audio reaches the console but remote parameters are absent, the audio route is working and integration remains a separate question. Use documented local/Workbench controls while verifying support for the exact console/version; do not install an unverified API workaround.
Choose the next check
| Observation | Next check | What to record |
|---|---|---|
| No wireless link | Mode, transmitter and band | Labels and version |
| Monitor but no output | License and output patch | Active count and channel |
| Audio without console control | Integration support | Console and firmware |
Precautions
- Check regional RF and license availability conditions.
- Do not change account, license allocation, network mode or firmware during the show.
- Use documented antenna and power hardware; do not infer universal compatibility from the tuning span.
