Sound

Shure MXW neXt 2

Plan two wireless channels and the voice path between the room and remote participants.

Ask about rental, purchase or integration

Tell us the use, date and venue, even with an approximate brief. We can assess equipment, integration, preparation and technical support. Configuration, availability and terms are confirmed in the proposal.

What it is and when it helps

Assess MXW neXt 2 as a two-channel system: MXWAPXD2, compatible transmitters and audio destinations. Do not transfer four- or eight-channel configurations to it.

Connections and components

MXWAPXD2 combines charging for two MXW1X, MXW2X or MXW6X transmitters, IntelliMix DSP and USB-C, analog and Dante connections. Identify the package contents and power supply.

Local presenter and remote participants

Map who must hear whom. Separate local microphones sent to the call from remote audio returning to loudspeakers. Select the operating mode and review its routing; avoid sending the remote return back to itself.

Proposal options

  • Initial option: Assess two compatible microphones with the existing computer and loudspeakers.
  • Expand the scope: Mode, routing and charging preparation plus a test call and agreed support.
  • Another alternative: A simple wired setup or a higher-channel system if the format needs it.
  • For a quote: Date, room, simultaneous voices, computer/platform and available loudspeakers.

Prepare before the event

  1. Inventory base, transmitters, power, cables and versions.
  2. Plan charging, linking and placement using the regional manual.
  3. Select computer input/output and check the operating mode.
  4. Test local speech, remote speech, playback and mute with an offsite participant.

Questions and answers

Do two channels mean only two participants?

They are two wireless channels, not a room capacity. Shared microphones may or may not suit the turn-taking, movement and acoustics; test every position.

Are microphones and loudspeakers included?

The base does not establish package contents. Identify transmitters, capsules, power and sound reinforcement; it is not itself a conference loudspeaker.

Does USB-C complete the call setup?

It provides audio integration, but the computer must select the device and permissions. Check remote playback, levels and application mute too.

Why does the remote participant hear echo?

Compare return routing, AEC references and selected mode with the manual. Test one path at a time rather than adding duplicate feeds or processors.

Does automix replace an operator?

It assists microphone management but does not manage turns or confirm coverage and battery readiness. Assign mute, level and replacement monitoring.

Can Direct be used like Conference?

The guide distinguishes modes: Direct disables internal automix and AEC. Define where processing occurs if using it; do not switch modes as a live diagnostic.
