Staging and draping
Technical masking drape
Define which technical areas you want to conceal and where the audience will view them from. The record lists approximately 40 linear ft; height, fabric and support system must be confirmed for the planned space and setup.
Identification and scope
- Manufacturer or brand
- Check the identification on the unit
- Equipment name
- Technical drape — fabric and support to identify
- Location
- Ask about availability and location
- Reference quantity or measurement
- 40 linear ft (reference measurement in the record)
- Configuration or function
- Masking of technical areas; approximately 40 ft in length; height to be confirmed.
You can start with photos of the space, the areas you want to cover, date and location even before all measurements are available. We’ll review the drape layout and supply options.
Information to prepare this item
- Model, accessories and configuration; dimensions and installation route.
- Composition and applicable certificates for the supplied fabric; support configuration, bases, loads and access, with setup review according to the relevant documentation.
Measure the sections and define the height
Record each section separately, including corners, changes of direction and access points that must remain usable. State the desired height and viewpoints of the technical area; total length alone does not define the layout.
The 40 ft reference does not confirm a setup available for every space. Panel count, dimensions and accessories are reviewed against the actual system and agreed layout.
Review fabric, support and circulation
| Point | What to record | How to proceed |
|---|---|---|
| Sections and height | Sections, corners, desired height and audience viewpoints | Define panels and layout using the space measurements |
| Fabric and documentation | Material reference, composition, appearance and applicable certificates | Confirm the proposed fabric and review the documentation required by the venue |
| Support and access | Support system, bases, route, technical access and circulation paths | Coordinate setup review and keep the planned passages with the venue |
If you need to block light or meet an acoustic goal, state that separately: the name technical drape does not confirm opacity, sound absorption or material certification. We’ll review those needs against the specific fabric and documentation.
Preparation for the actual material and support
Once the fabric and system are identified, we can gather setup documentation and information on the supplied material. Confirm dimensions, accessories and site conditions before finalizing the configuration; this page does not assign a fire classification or support capacity.
