GLMedia · Prepare the sound system
What a sound proposal includes
Request clear tasks and responsibilities even when you only have date, venue and an approximate program.
Ask about rental or technical support
Start with date, venue and approximate needs. We assess options, configuration and operation; availability and terms are confirmed in the proposal.
Equipment and services are separate lines
Identify sources and destinations: presenters, playback, stage, room and extra zones. Speaker lists need mixing, microphones, connections, supports, power requirements and compatible accessories. Distinguish venue resources, supply to confirm and alternatives.
Separate survey/design, delivery, unloading, installation, configuration, rehearsal, operation and collection. Assigning each task makes offers comparable; equipment delivery does not equal a rehearsed show.
Open details and changes
Proposed example: speech and videos in the room, with foyer music. Quote hotel-system integration or supplied PA, plus optional independent foyer control. Confirm handoff, zones and operator before selection; this is not a claimed completed project.
Record floor-plan/program versions, room access, rehearsal/show/collection hours and change authority. Added presenters, another zone or live music require reviewing affected inputs, outputs, crew, transport and testing. A model appearing on a page does not establish availability.
How to start
Send date, venue, objective, approximate program and venue-supplied resources. Photos/sketches help but are not required to talk. We can assess rental, purchase, installation, configuration or operation; distinguish confirmed, optional and pending scope with actual quoted prices and terms.
Questions and decisions
Is a technician included throughout the event?
Only when hours and tasks are stated. Distinguish setup, rehearsal and operation from delivery assistance. For venue resources, also identify the available responsible technician.
What does a continuity plan mean?
Agree what remains operational after a source/component failure, who authorizes change, which alternative is prepared and how it is checked. Spare equipment without reviewed routing/configuration does not prove continuity. Supply and operation belong in the scope.
