Switching and screen guide

Camera switching and multiscreen presentations

Ask GLMedia about rental options for multiscreen presentations. We review availability, configuration, and alternatives for your event.

Define images by audience

With the date, location, and intended use, we can review which equipment and combination can be offered. You can inquire before measurements, drawings, or the final schedule are ready.

Camera switching selects and combines sources into a live program. A multiscreen presentation may need different content, framing, and transitions for each surface. Both tasks can coexist at an event.

Start with a simple sketch of what should appear. Before final drawings or equipment are available, we can identify destinations, sources, and questions for system selection.

Program, destinations, and composition

Program and monitoring
Separate the audience output from operational Preview and multiview. Define what is streamed or recorded too.
Screens and destinations
Record whether surfaces repeat an image, show separate sources, or form a continuous canvas. Connector count does not establish processing capacity.
Format and composition
Check resolution, frame rate, aspect ratio, and cropping by destination. Scaling, layers, and blending require documented features of the exact system.

What to share

Describe what the room audience, remote audience, and presenter should see. A sketch with named screens is enough to begin.

Share planned cameras, computers, playback, and graphics. Identify what must appear together and what must change separately.

If equipment is selected, send models, cards, and versions. We can distinguish available connections from configurable functions and destinations.

Preparing the comparison

  1. Create a destination, content, format, and audio table. Include room, stream, recording, and operational monitors.
  2. Confirm assignable outputs, layers, and processing on the exact equipment. Do not infer a continuous canvas from an AUX list.
  3. Test each source and destination separately with an identifiable pattern, then compose the full scene. Check cropping and readability.
  4. Rehearse camera, slide, and composition changes. Confirm which screens change together and which should remain stable.
  5. Review audio for each delivery and rehearse the backup route, documenting shared stages.

Three technical questions

Do two screens always need different programs?

Repeating an image, displaying separate sources, and splitting a panoramic image are different requirements. The content determines the approach.

We can compare these options using a sketch and examples of what each audience should see.

Can a camera switcher create any panoramic canvas?

Check formats, scaling, layers, and composition for the exact model and configuration. AUX outputs alone do not establish canvas or blending features.

On E2, Screen and AUX destinations use documented features and system resources. Those capabilities do not automatically apply to another switcher.

Does working network control prove that the picture works?

Control, video signal, and monitoring require separate checks. Access to the device does not prove that every screen receives a source in the correct format.

Identify source, input, destination, and detected format. Then review composition and output without changing every setting at once.

Installation and limits

Save a usable configuration before changing formats or destinations. Rehearse outside the live program.

Identify generation and cards: a file from another variant is not a compatibility guarantee.

Plan cabling, power, ventilation, and mounting for the exact equipment and actual space.

Sources and context

Functions depend on model, cards, software, and configuration. Official sources support checking each route before selecting the system.
