Projection guide
No signal, cropped, blurry, or washed-out image
Ask GLMedia about rental options for event projection. We review availability, configuration, and alternatives for your event.
Planning criteria
With the date, location, and intended use, we can review which equipment and combination can be offered. You can inquire before measurements, drawings, or the final schedule are ready.
Describe what fails and when: no-signal message, missing edges, poor focus, or low contrast. These symptoms do not establish the same cause.
Start with a message photo, model, source, and connection sketch. Keep usable settings and record each test result.
System decisions
- No signal
- Check selected input, external output, and every connection stage. Identify converters and supported formats.
- Cropping
- Relate file aspect ratio, output, detected format, scaling, and overscan where available. Separate digital cropping from an image falling outside the screen.
- Focus or light
- Use a documented internal pattern where available to separate optics from content. Then review text, size, and light on screen.
What to share
Share screen width and height, available distance, and a space photo showing lighting. We can guide placement before a floor plan is available.
Share a representative slide with the smallest text, computer, videos, and audio destination. Define the viewing position from which it must be readable.
Preparing the comparison
- Record symptom, model, input, format, and recent changes. Check whether menus or internal patterns also fail.
- For no signal, check external output and selected input. Try a short known cable where the link permits, changing one stage at a time.
- For cropping, compare file and output edges with screen area. Review scaling or overscan only where available and preserve previous settings.
- For blur, test the model’s focus control and compare center and edges. Review position and surface; keystone does not replace focus.
- For a washed-out image, check light on screen and brightness mode with actual content. Review readability from critical seats.
- After correcting the identified stage, rehearse the complete file again. For internal-error indicators, consult the exact table and specified service route.
Three technical questions
What should I check when No Signal appears?
Check computer external output, selected source, and connections. Use Source Search and wait a few seconds.
Test a short known working HDMI cable and change one segment at a time. Record results before a general reset.
What if text looks blurry or washed out?
Check focus using a pattern, then light reaching the screen. Button focus cannot compensate for text that is too small for viewing distance.
We can review a slide and placement to propose text-size, lighting, or projection-path adjustments. Compare results using actual content.
What should I check when presentation edges are missing?
Compare file, computer output, and detected format. Check aspect ratio, scaling, and overscan only where available.
If the internal pattern also falls outside the surface, review placement and optics. Do not change all settings at once.
Checks to guide decisions
| Symptom | Check | What it helps distinguish |
|---|---|---|
| No signal | Source, external output, and connection. | Source or link. |
| Cropped | Format, scaling, and placement. | Digital or optical. |
| Blurry | Pattern, focus, and surface. | Optics or content. |
| Washed out | Light on screen and mode. | Environment and brightness. |
Installation and limits
Keep ventilation and beam path clear. Prevent audience access to equipment or cables; use mounting appropriate to the installation.
Record indicator colors and patterns for an error. Consult the official table; do not open the projector or repeatedly restart it for an internal fault.
ECO mode reduces brightness and noise. Check actual content and lighting; do not choose screen size or audience count from lumens alone.
Sources and context
Official model-specific documentation. Check variant, accessories, and conditions before applying settings or calculations.
