Tell us the use, date and venue, even with an approximate brief. We can assess equipment, integration, preparation and technical support. Configuration, availability and terms are confirmed in the proposal.
Map communications before counting headsets
Proposed scenario: direction needs cameras, stage and audio. List people/stations, transmit/listen needs and who must address several groups. Separate crew communication, program monitoring and guest return; do not feed intercom into PA or recording by default.
A shared partyline may suit a small crew; departments may need separate groups or point-to-point calls. Compare wired fixed stations, wireless movement and documented interfaces between them. The Solidcom C1 Pro page covers its link cases; system selection still starts with the station map.
Connections and proposed test
- Identify base, beltpacks/headsets, firmware, region, power, batteries and exact accessories. Record cable routes and movement zones.
- For system integration, check 2-wire/4-wire interface, level, pinout and power at both ends. Similar XLR or RJ45 connectors do not prove compatibility or Ethernet.
- Test every station both ways and each group separately. Feed program only to agreed destinations and check it does not return to its own input.
- Rehearse unit loss and replacement; agree fallback signals with direction. Assign responsibility, charging, manufacturer-directed cleaning and returns. Avoid critical group changes during an on-air cue.

Assess wired, wireless or mixed systems, group/interface configuration, station tests and show support. Start with date, venue and approximate people/departments. Provide guest or recording audio connection requirements to the video lead without duplicating their operation.
More setup questions
Does each department group need its own base?
It depends on platform and enabled capacity. Check matrix, simultaneous users, interfaces and actual system limits before counting bases or licenses.
Does hearing myself confirm the link?
No. Sidetone may be local. Ask another station for an identifying phrase and check both directions, mute and selected group.
