Hanging fascia, logo or sign: build the item’s mass record
A hanging sign can combine a frame, graphics, letters, lighting and parts from several vendors. To compare options and prepare for review, identify what each vendor supplies and which mass applies to the final design. Start with the visual idea and develop the details with the item’s suppliers.
Describe what you want visitors to see
Share the shape, visible faces, orientation, available dimensions and goal: identify the booth, mark an area or complement a display. A reference image helps discuss the visual result. To review the actual item, request the vendor’s model or drawing, materials, finishes and component list.
A custom logo needs its own mass documentation. A similar sign’s data or the description “lightweight” is not enough. Include letters, panels, connections, power supplies for illuminated elements and accessories that remain part of the item.
Read a real specification without treating it as final assembly mass
The Orbus Formulate L-Shape 1010-03 Hanging sheet dated January 22, 2025 separates Hardware, Graphics and Shipping. Hardware lists approximately 44 lb / 20 kg for the assembled unit; boxed shipping lists 54 lb / 24.4 kg. These published values have different scopes.
Record the Hardware value under that heading and ask the supplier to confirm its included components: graphics, cables and any additions in your proposal. “Assembled unit” alone does not settle those boundaries. This example explains documentation for the exact model; it does not present that product as an already selected solution.
Gather information without counting components twice
| Part | Starting information | Document check |
|---|---|---|
| Frame or body | Model or drawing, variant and mass | Included components |
| Graphics, letters and finishes | Material, construction and revision | Included mass or separate row |
| Lighting and accessories | Equipment, quantities and location | Vendor data and attached cables |
| Suspension interface | Manufacturer documentation | Review by the rigging lead |
Material documents and acceptance need coordination with the supplier and venue for the project. A fabric image or commercial name does not establish testing or local acceptance. The draping guide covers further questions about materials and construction.
Keep a separate revision for each option
A fabric fascia, individual letters and a branded video feature need different inventories. First compare what visitors need to see and which documents each vendor can supply. A ground-supported option also needs review of its support, floor and proposed layout.
Keep a revision for each option. When graphics, finish, lighting or item quantities change, update the inventory and sketch before resubmitting. The venue and rigging team need to know which version they are reviewing. Locations above aisles, heights and permissions are coordinated with the responsible parties for the specific project.
Common questions
Does frame weight include the fabric?
Only when the source makes that clear for the configuration. Request supplier confirmation and retain the response with the specification.
Does a certificate mentioned in a catalog authorize my installation?
Request the applicable document and its scope. Project review needs to address the item, configuration and venue conditions; a marketing statement does not replace that review.
Can I contact you before the logo design is final?
Yes. Share an idea, available dimensions and intended use. We can organize options and the questions the item’s supplier needs to answer.
