Chauvet DJ Followspot 200ST

Prepare Followspot 200ST for manual tracking or DMX intensity, color and strobe control; check optics, support and operating mode.

Ask GLMedia about renting Chauvet DJ Followspot 200ST for your event. Availability and configuration are subject to confirmation.

Model and purpose

Manufacturer
Chauvet DJ
Model
Chauvet DJ Followspot 200ST
Variant
Followspot 200ST; code 08042340
Source
200 W cool-white LED
Optics
12°–17° manual zoom; mechanical iris
Power
100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz

LED followspot supplied with a tripod, intended for an operator who aims and follows the subject. DMX controls lighting functions; movement, zoom, focus and iris remain manual.

Prepare your rental inquiry

Specify equipment only or whether setup, programming, operation and strike are also needed. Scope is confirmed in the proposal.

You do not need a final equipment list: tell us the result you want and the part you need help with. Availability and scope are confirmed in the proposal.

Features and connections

DMX input and output use 3-pin XLR. Its 3-channel profile provides dimmer, color wheel and strobe; it is not a moving-head profile.

The iris reduces beam diameter and focus adjusts edge sharpness. The wheel includes colors, CTO and open white; CTO is a fixed selection rather than variable correction.

Prepare the system

  1. Check tripod, fasteners and operator clearance; keep fixture and cables out of traffic. Adjust bracket knobs by hand without tools.
  2. Choose MANUAL for local operation or DMX for console control. In DMX, use UP/DOWN for address 001–510 and match the console patch.
  3. Aim at a test surface and adjust zoom, iris and focus; then check dimmer, color and blackout. Agree who controls lighting and tracking before the show.

Questions and troubleshooting

Raising the DMX dimmer produces no light?

Intensity also depends on the strobe/open state.

  1. Confirm DMX mode, address and cable; verify the source using a simple scene.
  2. Check channel 1, dimmer, and channel 3, strobe. For continuous light, the Rev2 chart specifies open at 4–7 or 216–255 on channel 3.
  3. Check iris and optical output before blaming the LED. Having electrical power does not prove DMX reception.
Local buttons do not behave as expected?

Separate manual mode, blackout and long-press functions.

  1. Select MANUAL for local control. Check BLACKOUT and use ON to restore the LED; then adjust intensity using +/–.
  2. Do not hold ON when seeking steady light: a 3-second hold activates strobe. Do not test it toward people.
  3. Do not leave a fixture in standalone mode connected to a console-controlled DMX chain: the manual warns that transmitted signals may interfere.
The beam is small or its edge is out of focus?

Zoom, iris and focus solve different problems.

  1. Check the 12°–17° manual zoom. The iris can narrow the beam further; it cannot widen the maximum zoom opening.
  2. Adjust focus at the actual throw after choosing zoom and iris. Do not force knobs or mechanisms.
  3. Check the selected color and coverage with the subject at actual positions. Wheel calibration is not a focus control or the first troubleshooting step.
