Prepare your rental inquiry
- Date, city, venue and setup, event and pickup schedule.
- Intended use, area dimensions and equipment already supplied by the venue or production.
- Desired effect, positions, throw, area and stage restrictions.
- Control profile, mounting accessories and camera coordination where needed.
Specify equipment only or whether setup, programming, operation and strike are also needed. Scope is confirmed in the proposal.
You do not need a final equipment list: tell us the result you want and the part you need help with. Availability and scope are confirmed in the proposal.
Features and connections
Separate color and gobo wheels, interchangeable rotating gobos and selectable prisms. Beam size is adjusted manually; DMX Focus sharpens the image.
14CH adds fine movement, dimmer, function and macros with different positions or availability from 08CH. Record the version in Sys Info before changing settings.
Prepare the system
- Use grounded 100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz power without a dimmer. Published consumption: 217 W at 120 V, 60 Hz; 211 W at 230 V, 50 Hz. LED wattage is not total electrical consumption.
- Check structure, bracket and fasteners; use secondary retention overhead. With a single bracket, the manual requires a captive-bolt clamp. Clear the full head movement area.
- Under Run Mode > DMX choose 08CH or 14CH and set Address. Confirm with ENTER; match console personality and footprint. Do not mix a standalone master and console on the same line.
Questions and troubleshooting
Does it move without producing light?
Dimmer and shutter must allow output; the strobe channel also includes blackout.
- In 14CH check dimmer on channel 11 and shutter/strobe on 12; in 08CH strobe is on 8 with no separate dimmer.
- For steady light, the manual assigns 004–007 to open shutter. Test with open gobo and color in a safe output area.
- If it goes dark only during movement, inspect Function in 14CH: it can request movement blackout. Save the scene before editing.
Is the gobo blurred even when beam size changes?
Manual zoom and motorized focus have different jobs.
- With safe access, set manual zoom for coverage without touching hot parts.
- Focus on the actual surface using Focus: channel 7 in 08CH or 10 in 14CH.
- Remove prism and rotation for the test. If focus works through Run Mode > Manual but not the console, inspect profile, address and values before using Zero Adjust calibration.
Does it stay lit or start a show when DMX is lost?
Setup > DMX Loss selects Hold, Black, Auto or Sound.
- Record the setting and select the intended event behavior. Auto and Sound can start output and movement.
- Test disconnection in a controlled area; Hold retains the last state and Black requests blackout.
- With RFC/RFC-XL, check Setup > RF > BIND and Run Mode > RF group separately from the patch. An RF receiver is not wireless DMX.
Quick reference
| Mode | Channels | Calculated last start |
|---|---|---|
| 08CH | 8 | 505 |
| 14CH | 14 | 499 |
Precautions
- Dry indoor use; maximum 40 °C per safety notes with 50 cm ventilation clearance. No rain or direct eye exposure.
- Do not alter calibration to compensate for a wrong patch. Reset and Factory Set differ; save settings and anticipate movement on restart.
- A USB Update menu does not confirm appropriate firmware is available. Verify file and revision with support before updating.
