ETCnomad: from computer to verified output
Separate software, license key and output to prepare control around the show.
Proposed test, scope and alternatives
Eos installation supports offline file preparation. An ETCnomad key enables licensed use; it has no DMX connectors. Current options distinguish 1024 and 6144 outputs: verify recognized capacity with the actual key/software.
We propose a compatible Eos computer, key and supported GadgetII USB or network gateway. A generic USB-DMX adapter is not equivalent. Compare operating comfort, peripherals and recovery with a dedicated console.
- Record OS and Eos version; check its requirements/release notes. Do not apply Cobalt or HogPC requirements to Eos.
- Check key recognition, capacity, station role and chosen output. Offline is not rig control; visualization does not prove physical DMX.
- For USB, check supported device recognition and port mapping. For Ethernet, check adapter, protocol, universe and receiver without changing the entire network.
- Test a fixture with known mode/address and a simple cue. Record Eos values, output and response before expansion. Plan wired critical data as ETC recommends.
- Keep file, map and recovery outside the computer. We can assess key/interface, preparation and operation; scope and availability require confirmation.

Does GadgetII replace the key?
No. The interface delivers DMX; output authorization and capacity need separate verification.
Why can I see cues but no lights?
Check key, offline/operating role, interface, enabled output and patch. Visible cues only establish file content.
Will any computer or USB-DMX cable work?
Do not assume it. Verify Eos requirements and supported interfaces, plus adapters and ports.
Can you offer alternatives?
We can compare computer with physical controls, dedicated console or simpler playback according to changes/operator. Send date, venue and needs without a final patch.
