Lighting and control

GLP impression X5 IP Maxx

Set up X5 IP Maxx personality, Main/Sub behavior, RGBL mixing and signal recovery using firmware-specific documentation.

Ask GLMedia about renting GLP impression X5 IP Maxx for your event. Availability and configuration are subject to confirmation.

Model and purpose

GLP impression X5 IP Maxx
Variant
impression X5 IP Maxx; 37 RGBL LEDs at 40 W
Power
100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz; 1500 W

Control
DMX/RDM, Art-Net, sACN; CRMX with FPO module

Moving wash for coverage and segment or pixel effects. This is the Maxx variant; check the exact library before reusing a show built for another X5 fixture.

Prepare your rental inquiry

Specify equipment only or whether setup, programming, operation and strike are also needed. Scope is confirmed in the proposal.

You do not need a final equipment list: tell us the result you want and the part you need help with. Availability and scope are confirmed in the proposal.

Features and connections

In modes with Main and Sub, the main module provides the wash and the sub module supplies effects. Dimmer/shutter dependency and color priority are separate settings.

Protocol Setup selects the input. Check IP, universe and the installed FPO module when using CRMX; iQ.Mesh and CRMX are not interchangeable names for the same route.

Prepare the system

  1. Record firmware, Control Mode, address and protocol. The consulted manual covers 2.0.1 and the chart covers 1.4.4: match the library to the unit.
  2. Have qualified personnel check mounting, secondary retention and movement clearance; release the tilt lock before applying power.
  3. Prepare a simple scene and verify each module. Record Subfixture Mode, Mix Priority, Color Mix Mode and No Signal before programming palettes.

Questions and troubleshooting

The main dimmer does not black out effects?

Independent changes the intensity and shutter relationship between modules.

  1. In modes with Main/Sub, compare Normal with Independent. In Independent, the sub module can remain lit with the main at zero.
  2. Check both modules’ dimmers and shutters; a dark wash does not prove that the entire fixture is blacked out.
  3. Mix Priority still affects the blend; CTC, CQC, M/G-Shift and Tungsten can affect both modules even with independent intensity.
Lime does not respond, or pixels mix differently?

DMX personality and Color Mix Mode serve different purposes.

  1. In RGB, Lime is calculated internally; its direct channel has no function in modes documented that way. RGBL allows different access to the emitter.
  2. Multipix Compressed RGB and RGBL have different maps. Do not add a Lime channel to an RGB library or confuse Main mixing with Sub mixing.
  3. Compare Color Mix Mode and iQ.Gamut across units. CQC HO/HQ options do not operate in RGBL; matching values alone does not guarantee matching white.
The console cannot take control, or a scene remains after signal loss?

Check local control and no-signal behavior separately.

  1. Exit the Manual DMX submenu: while open it takes priority over external DMX. Keep the movement area clear when entering or leaving.
  2. Check No Signal: Blackout, Hold or Scene. Scene uses previously captured values; it does not indicate a receiver failure.
  3. Without external data, leaving Manual DMX can retain the local scene. Test loss and recovery with controlled outputs before the show.

Terms on this page

DMX
A data protocol controlling lighting functions; each model defines what its channels mean.
RDM
Management communication for querying or configuring compatible equipment over a compatible path.
Personality
A control mode defining the channels and functions used by a fixture.
Shutter
A fixture function opening or closing light output; distinct from the camera shutter.
