Event power planning

120/208, 120/240 and 230/400: identify venue power

Two voltage numbers separated by a slash can describe different systems. Ask the venue for the full configuration and which conductor relationship each voltage describes.

What the voltages mean in these three systems

These nominal values assume the stated configuration. They do not cover every network, including high-leg delta. A 240 V label alone does not identify a supply system, and this table is not permission to connect.

Information needed to confirm compatibility

Choose a documented alternative

If the equipment cannot use the offered supply, ask for a compatible circuit or a conversion solution designed and verified by the provider. Changing the plug shape does not convert voltage or frequency. For an event in Argentina, confirm actual values with the venue and its utility.

Planning questions

Are 208 V and 240 V interchangeable?

Do not assume that. Check the exact model’s input range and conditions, including accessories and power supplies.

Does 120/240 V mean three-phase?

The split-phase example in the table is single-phase. Always request the full configuration; other systems also include 240 V.

Does voltage identify 50 or 60 Hz?

No. Frequency must be confirmed separately against equipment documentation.

Sources and scope

Technical reference documentation. Venue staff and a qualified professional review its application to the actual installation.

Before finalizing the supply, confirm venue and local authority requirements in the United States, or utility and local requirements for an event in Argentina. Confirm the actual site’s electrical configuration regardless of this guide’s language.
