MDG ATMe: haze, consumables and event control

Planning an atmosphere to reveal beams requires defining the effect, venue approval and the complete operating system.

Proposed test, scope and alternatives

ATMe produces haze rather than low fog. Documentation specifies MDG Neutral and CO₂ or N₂ gas with the appropriate regulated system. Do not substitute generic fluids or confuse supply gas with a cryogenic effect. This page concerns standard ATMe, not WPE.

Before quoting, identify unit/rating label, manual revision, gas, regulator, connections and actual power supply. Electrical figures differ between the product page and C/e guide; sizing requires confirmed unit-specific documentation. A promotional consumption figure is not circuit approval.

For a proposed beam-reveal scene, agree on density, duration and positions with lighting, cameras and venue staff. Prepare an atmosphere-free alternative if approval is unavailable. Keep detection and ventilation operational; barely visible haze does not establish alarm compatibility.

  1. Prepare a survey with rating-label/connection photos, identified consumables, safety documents and venue responsibilities. Trained personnel must address gas and electrical installation; do not improvise adapters.
  2. Compare the profile’s three channels with the ATMe table: unit enable, haze quantity and emission enable. Check heating/ready state and control mode before blaming missing output on DMX.
  3. Propose a test under normal ventilation with the test area clear. Record signal-loss and recovery behavior: the manual distinguishes DMX and AUTO. Follow shutdown/purge procedures; do not cut power while producing haze.

Start with your date, venue and approximate needs. We can assess equipment, configuration and operation within an agreed scope.

Can I use any fog fluid?

No. ATMe documentation specifies MDG Neutral. If the loaded fluid cannot be verified, suspend use and consult the technical lead.

What happens when DMX is lost?

In guide C/e, DMX mode initiates automatic shutdown while AUTO retains the last values. Confirm your unit’s mode/version and rehearse before the event.

Does raising the quantity channel guarantee emission?

No. Unit/emission enables and operating conditions also matter. Compare all three channels, status and manual; misplaced profile controls can confuse diagnosis.

What can a commercial solution include?

We can assess machine, documented consumables, gas accessories, control, setup and operation within a defined scope. Start with date, venue, desired effect and known restrictions; approval, supplies and availability are confirmed in the proposal.
