NETRON EN12: distribution and configuration recovery

Map outputs and preserve a rental unit before changing presets or firmware.

Proposed test, scope and alternatives

EN12 NRE001 provides twelve configurable five-pin XLR IN/OUT ports in 1U. It is distinct from EN12i/EN12-45. Map every port; twelve connectors establish neither twelve separate universes nor console capacity.

Official 2.x→3 migration notes say settings/cues are erased and 2.x backups cannot import into 3. A saved file is insufficient: preserve the map and reconstruction resources.

  1. On receipt, record model, Firmware/Web, IP, protocols, ports, presets, cues and triggers. Keep a version-supported backup externally and check supplier conditions before changes.
  2. Propose zone mapping and model-specific mounting. Confirm power/accessories; connector type alone does not establish outdoor protection.
  3. Test individual outputs with known values, then intended cues/merges and signal loss/return. Record initial and event-approved settings.
  4. Before reset/update, compare source/destination notes and reconstruction requirements. Schedule maintenance away from the show; a factory preset may change many routes.
  5. Deliver identified configuration, map and rehearsed/pending recovery. Agree on return settings/version for a rental rather than restoring blindly.

Start with your date, venue and approximate needs. We can assess equipment, configuration and operation within an agreed scope.

Can a 2.x backup restore after moving to 3?

The migration notes say no. Plan required reconstruction and cue recording before changing versions.

Do twelve ports require twelve universes?

Several outputs may distribute the same signal. Size physical lines and universes separately.

Will reset always fix a different web version?

No. Record Firmware/Web and symptoms; follow applicable documentation/support while preserving settings.

What can you provide?

We can assess node or alternative, network, preparation, distribution and operation. Send date, venue and approximate zones; accessories, scope and availability require confirmation.
