Lighting and control

Robe iFORTE LTX

Identify iFORTE LTX WB or FS, match the DMX profile and distinguish signal issues from Standby and cold-weather warm-up.

Ask GLMedia about renting Robe iFORTE LTX for your event. Availability and configuration are subject to confirmation.

Model and purpose

Manufacturer

Model
Robe iFORTE LTX
Family
iFORTE LTX WB / FS
Power
100–240 VAC; 50–60 Hz
Maximum consumption
1250 W
Profile
Standard 16-bit; 54 channels

LED moving head for long-throw projection with framing, CMY mixing, zoom and precise beam control. The family includes WB and FS; verify the FS camera and tracking accessories separately before preparing the system.

Prepare your rental inquiry

Specify equipment only or whether setup, programming, operation and strike are also needed. Scope is confirmed in the proposal.

You do not need a final equipment list: tell us the result you want and the part you need help with. Availability and scope are confirmed in the proposal.

Features and connections

The 1000 W LED source rating is separate from total consumption. Standard zoom covers 3.5–55°; LT Follow spot uses a reducer and iris for 0.8–2°, blocking rotating gobos while active.

DMX uses 5-pin XLR and networking uses 2 RJ45 ports. FS adds a camera RJ45: distinguish it from control ports. Art-Net, sACN, RDM and REAP depend on configuration.

Prepare the system

  1. Identify WB or FS and firmware. Use grounded power and residual-current protection as required by the manual, without a dimmer; release pan and tilt locks before powering on.
  2. Under Address > DMX Address, set the start and reserve 54 channels. The last complete start in a 512-channel universe is 459; match Standard 16-bit to the console profile.
  3. Under Personality > DMX Input, select Wired or Wireless only with the module installed. For networking, select the protocol in Ethernet Mode and match IP, mask and universe; a physical link does not prove the correct universe is arriving.

Questions and troubleshooting

Does the display work while light and movement remain unresponsive?

Standby and warm-up can explain this state without a signal fault.

  1. Look for Standby: it disables motors and light while retaining settings, RDM and REAP. Cancel it using the documented procedure before testing effects.
  2. Between 0 and −10 °C warm-up may take 30 minutes; between −11 and −50 °C the manual requires continuous power and warns of starts taking up to 1 hour. DMX is ignored during warm-up.
  3. Once ready, check received data, address, shutter and dimmer. Avoid random resets or values on Power/Special.
Is there light, but the beam changes or gobos disappear?

LT Follow spot changes the optical path rather than just zoom.

  1. Check whether LT Follow spot is active and whether the scene needs it. The reducer occupies the carousel and blocks rotating gobos.
  2. Compare zoom, iris, frost and framing against a known static scene, retaining safe distances and orientation.
  3. With RoboSpot or LightMaster, record which operator controls each attribute and the actual setup. Do not transfer control assignments between these accessories.
Can the console control the fixture but fail to discover it through RDM?

Receiving levels and remote discovery are separate checks.

  1. Separate DMX, RDM and camera paths. Record variant, fixture firmware, node and tracking system.
  2. Match network protocol and universe at both ends; this manual uses Art-Net 0–255 and sACN 1–32000. Confirm node RDM support and routing.
  3. Compare a documented direct connection with the node in a safe test setting. An isolated forum report establishes neither a fix nor compatibility.

Precautions

Terms on this page

DMX
A data protocol controlling lighting functions; each model defines what its channels mean.
RDM
Management communication for querying or configuring compatible equipment over a compatible path.
Personality
A control mode defining the channels and functions used by a fixture.
Shutter
A fixture function opening or closing light output; distinct from the camera shutter.
