Roland VR-6HD: hybrid room and duplicated remote speech
Prepare cameras, slides and audio for room and remote participants. Check VR-6HD routing when a guest hears doubled speech.
Separate room program and remote contribution
Equipment and destinations
VR-6HD combines six HD HDMI inputs, audio mixing, USB and direct network streaming, with video recording to SDXC. It has no SDI inputs. Assign destinations and verify playback/streaming/recording concurrency by format and version.
List cameras, slides, clips, microphones and call computer. Assign connection, account, mixes and operation. Integration does not remove these tasks or establish that one person can handle all simultaneously.
Case 21: a room with remote guests
Proposed use: camera and slides for the meeting, a useful speaker view and room program. Agree composition, audio and ports per destination and test the real receiver. Prepare opening, hold and closing before automation.
Rehearse local speech, guest, clip and conversation return. Record a take and listen in room, remotely and in the file. Note settings and responsibility; recording and meeting reception are separate results.
Case 22: a remote guest hears doubled speech
The manual limits echo cancellation to AUDIO IN1/2, referenced to USB IN. First distinguish duplicated sources from acoustic return. Review active inputs, fader assignment and selected USB audio; fader number need not identify source.
With audio staff, compare one source at a time off air and ask the guest to describe reception. Keep a sample and input state. Use the hybrid-panel guide to plan returns and mix-minus; this equipment page does not replace that diagnosis or prescribe a universal effect setting.
Repeat with show microphones, speakers, clips and reconnection. Retest affected routes after computer or mix changes. Assign program coverage and call recovery without a midstream reset as the first measure.
Discuss the required scope
GLMedia can evaluate rental, purchase, installation, integration, configuration or operation. Approximate date, venue, participants and destinations are enough to start. Compare prepared equipment for your crew, configuration support or operated service with rehearsal; confirm models, accessories, licenses and availability in the proposal.
Does fader 1 always control microphone 1?
Check project source assignment before moving it. Test speech and clips separately and note the affected input.
Does echo processing replace return-feed review?
Identify routing and sources first. Coordinate returns with audio and compare guest listening before and after changes.
Can it stream without a dedicated computer?
Direct streaming is available, but define destination, access, connection and monitoring. A video call still needs its own prepared system.
What helps compare a simpler solution?
Date, venue, sources, remote guests, files and existing resources. Compare required duties and devices for each option.
