Lighting and control
Outdoor lighting equipment
Confirm fixture, connections and mounting for actual event conditions.
Ask GLMedia about a lighting rental solution for your event, subject to availability and technical requirements.
Using this guide
An IP rating concerns defined product conditions; it does not approve every exposure, orientation or permanent installation.
Prepare your rental inquiry
- Date, city, venue and setup, event and pickup schedule.
- Intended use, area dimensions and equipment already supplied by the venue or production.
- Visual goal and problem to solve; venue plan or identified photos if available.
- Decisions already agreed with venue, production and video to assess a suitable solution.
Specify equipment only or whether setup, programming, operation and strike are also needed. Scope is confirmed in the proposal.
You do not need a final equipment list: tell us the result you want and the part you need help with. Availability and scope are confirmed in the proposal.
Features and connections
Review the whole chain: mated connectors, caps, power, cables, distribution and control. A protected body does not protect an incompatible connection.
Prepare the system
- Identify variant and manual; check temporary or permanent use, temperature, humidity, orientation and manufacturer restrictions.
- Inspect seals, caps and cables. Use compatible accessories and mounting assessed for installation and environment by competent personnel.
- Agree on weather monitoring, suspension criteria and safe disconnect access; check operation before the audience arrives.
Questions and troubleshooting
Can it stay in rain because it has an IP rating?
The decision requires the manual’s specific conditions.
- Check exposure limits, position, caps and fully mated connectors before energizing.
- Do not convert indoor equipment with a bag or tape; request a suitable rental alternative.
Will any cable that fits work?
Mechanical fit proves neither protection nor electrical capacity.
- Confirm the specified connector pair and cable; inspect seals and unused-port protection.
- Keep connections out of pooled water and prepare distribution with the electrical lead.
Can it be packed wet after the event?
Event closeout also requires maintenance.
- Disconnect and follow manual drying, cleaning and inspection before casing or storage.
- Remove from service for water ingress or damage; do not power it to dry it or open seals in the field.
Precautions
- Do not infer immersion, pressure washing or salt-environment resistance from a generic rating.
- IP does not validate structure or wind resistance; mounting needs independent assessment.
- Maintain ventilation and fixture movement; improvised covers may introduce another hazard.
