Booth power and internet: prepare the service request
Displays, products and applications may rely on separately ordered services. A useful request explains which activity must work, where and when, and gathers technical information from each responsible party.
Start with service-dependent activities
Separate local playback, connected demos, video calls and content uploads. Record simultaneous use and anything that must remain available outside public hours. For internet, the application owner describes requirements and restrictions; “a good connection” is not enough.
For a specific example, the ISC East 2026 manual directs electricity and internet orders to Javits services. For your event, identify the authorized provider, portal, deadlines and support contact in the manual for your booked edition.
Gather information for the power lead
Request identification and power requirements for each device, including configuration and supporting documentation. Mark intended locations and operating hours. For missing information, assign someone to confirm it before ordering.
The power and cabling lead prepares the technical specification; the relevant provider confirms supply, connection and event conditions. This worksheet does not total loads to select circuits, size distribution equipment or authorize work on installations.
Describe the application dependency
List the application and version, expected devices, simultaneous use and required external services. Ask IT to confirm access, authentication, restrictions and support with the provider. Compare the proposed service with those needs, including what is guaranteed and under which conditions.
Do not treat phone reception or attendee Wi-Fi as confirmation that a demo will work. If another connection or a booth network is considered, the provider and organizer confirm its use conditions. Agree fallback content with the product lead and client.
Track the service request
Scroll the table sideways. With a keyboard, focus it and use the arrow keys.
| Record | What to include | Confirmation owner |
|---|---|---|
| Need | Equipment or application, location and hours | Equipment provider / product lead |
| Specification | Requirements and technical scope | Power lead or IT |
| Order | Reference, requested service and conditions | Exhibitor and authorized provider |
| Delivery | Location, hours, contact and planned review | Service provider |
| Review | Actual result and open activity issue | Technical leads and product lead |
Review the actual activity
Arrange a review using the intended application, devices and destinations. Record what was checked, connection conditions and open items. Ask the product team to validate the cloud-dependent demo and the AV operator to check the relevant signal path.
If a service is missing, update the program with the authorized alternative. A paid order or a physically present connection does not by itself establish that the complete activity is ready.
Planning worksheet
This worksheet gathers information for specialists to prepare the request. It is not a power calculation or network design.
Common questions
Does booth rental include power and internet?
Review the booking and that edition’s manual. Record inclusions, the provider and services still to order.
Can we use attendee Wi-Fi?
The application owner and provider must confirm whether its conditions meet the activity’s needs. Do not assume suitability because a network exists.
Does GLMedia design the installation from this worksheet?
The worksheet gathers the information needed to coordinate the request. Power or network specialists specify the system with the authorized provider.
What if requirements are incomplete?
Send the program and available list. We can organize missing information and owners before finalizing the configuration and request.
