Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch M4 Max (2024)
Prepare presentations, playback or capture around the configuration, applications and destinations planned for the event. This page uses the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Max (2024) as its reference; the test should use the intended unit and files.
Identification and scope
- Manufacturer or brand
- Apple
- Equipment name
- MacBook Pro 16-inch (2024), M4 Max
- Location
- Ask about availability and location
- Supply for the event
- Ask about options for the planned date and scope
- Base record configuration
- M4 Max; 16-core CPU; 40-core GPU; 48 GB; 2 TB storage.
The base record lists M4 Max, a 16-core CPU, a 40-core GPU, 48 GB of memory and 2 TB of storage. Confirm the proposed unit’s configuration, macOS version, and required applications and licenses; these details do not establish availability for a date or the performance of a particular project.
Information to prepare this item
- Equipment generation and configuration; operating system version, application and license.
- Exact capture/output interface, test content and format requested by each destination.
Separate the connection from the result you need
Apple documents three Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C) ports and, over HDMI, one display up to 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 240 Hz for this generation. Record the port and adaptation for each destination; compare the next device’s accepted format with what it actually receives during the test.
For external capture, identify the interface, connection, driver and support for the macOS and application versions. An adapter with the right connector does not confirm that compatibility. Draw the audio path too, so you can check the operator’s monitoring separately from the program feed.
Test the complete workload before the event
Open the final files, confirm fonts and linked media, and rehearse content changes with the capture and outputs you will use together. Record the result at each destination and preserve the working state before changing a setting.
| Point | What to record | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| Application and content | macOS, version, license, files and planned workload | Play the complete pieces and listen to the audio under the test workload |
| Outputs and capture | Ports, adapters, interface and format by destination | Compare image, framing and audio at each receiver, beyond the Mac’s screen |
| Backup and transport | Power, copies, shared peripherals and person responsible for switching | Rehearse switching off air and check which parts remain available |
If the job requires a recording, save a short take and open it in the intended delivery application. A live picture does not validate the file. Agree on the failures the backup must cover: a content copy alone does not replace the computer, interface or output path.
Reference documentation
Apple: MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2024), technical specifications. Use this generation’s documentation to review connections; do not assume an interface or application is compatible just because it worked with another Mac generation. Also confirm application and peripheral support for the proposed unit.
