Professional rental generator: model and scope
“A 150 generator” leaves important questions open. Request the full identification and service scope so the proposal can be reviewed against a specific unit.
What to resolve
Atlas Copco lists the QAS 150 JD T4F on its US site. When reviewing a rental offer, request the full model designation because regional versions of the QAS 150 can differ.
Compare equipment-only rental with an operated service. Agree on the review required for a replacement unit and the information the supplier must provide before delivery.
Information for review
- Manufacturer, full model, serial number, and readable exterior nameplate photos, without opening electrical compartments.
- Data sheet and manual applicable to the variant and region, with the offered configuration confirmed by the supplier.
- Ask the proposal to list accessories, distribution, operator, transport, fuel, support, and operating hours.
Compare what each proposal includes
| Item | What to request in writing | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| Unit and substitutions | Full model, variant, and applicable documentation | Review revised data if the offered unit changes |
| Accessories and distribution | Included cables, boards, and accessories | Catalog options versus the actual supplied package |
| Operation and support | Hours, operator, fuel, and fault response | Included services versus additional charges |
Project questions
Is a data sheet for the same family enough?
It can start the discussion. Ask the supplier to confirm that it matches the serial number and actual options.
Is a catalog option included?
Only if it is documented in the scope and supplied unit. List included and excluded accessories.
What should we check on arrival?
Compare identification, documentation, and accessories against the order. Record any discrepancies and ask the supplier to resolve them before operation begins.
Can I send a quote I already have?
Yes. Send the quote, date, and venue. We can help identify what is included and what needs clarification to coordinate the generator with the AV equipment.
Siting and operation
Exhaust produces carbon monoxide (CO). Place the mobile generator outdoors, outside tents and enclosed spaces, with exhaust away from openings and air intakes. The supplier must validate ventilation, clearances, and rain/flood protection against the manual; an enclosure does not establish all-weather suitability.
Agree on fuel, refueling, and the authorized procedure with the supplier; do not improvise refueling while running. Connections, grounding, protection, building transfer, and paralleling require a documented system and competent personnel. Report alarms or trips to the operator without bypassing protection or repeatedly resetting.
Confirm the country, city, and venue with the supplier. Check venue and local-authority requirements in the United States; in Argentina, consult the qualified professional and jurisdictional authority. Operating voltages and installation approvals must be confirmed for the specific project.
Sources and scope
Reference documentation for preparing the discussion. The proposed unit's data sheet and manual must confirm project values.
