Rigging, Support & Power

Owned one-ton chain hoists, original Unilumin hanging and ground-support hardware, Tyler Truss, Thomas Truss, Global Truss, ModTruss, certified lifting accessories and certified riggers.

What it does

Start with
the application.

GLMedia can supply the LED, its original manufacturer support hardware and the deployment infrastructure around it. Flown and ground-supported systems are selected from the venue rules, approved loads, access, schedule and operating plan.

Three deployment paths.
One prepared inventory.

The screen support is planned with the same care as the LED canvas. GLMedia can deploy a flown wall, an original Unilumin ground-support system or a truss-based structure according to the venue and approved design.

01 · FLOWN LED

One-ton hoists and original bumpers

Owned one-ton entertainment chain hoists, controllers, original Unilumin hanging bumpers, certified slings and shackles, and certified GLMedia riggers can be included in the contracted scope. Venue-appointed or licensed specialists are integrated when required.

02 · GROUND SUPPORT

Original Unilumin ground support for ground-stacked LED

Original Unilumin ground-support frames, quick connections, rear braces, service platforms and guardrails allow several technicians to work in parallel across a large screen. GLMedia owns enough compatible original platform modules to position a rear service platform approximately every 2 m along an approved Unilumin ground-stacked configuration, helping distribute qualified technicians across wide builds. This can reduce serial work from a single ladder or lift and shorten installation and strike.

03 · ARENA AND TOURING

Tyler, Thomas and Global Truss systems

Owned structural inventory includes Tyler Truss 12x12 bolt-together sections in 10 ft, 8 ft and 5 ft lengths with cubes, bases, bolt sets and dedicated dollies; James Thomas Engineering (Thomas Truss) 12x12 sections; and Global Truss components. ModTruss 6x6 aluminum adds a separate modular structural family. Exact series, lengths, connection type and quantities are confirmed for the quote, and components from different manufacturers are not assumed interchangeable.

04 · MODULAR STRUCTURE

ModTruss 6x6 aluminum

Owned ModTruss 6x6 aluminum components use bolted connectivity on all six sides, creating a flexible structural toolkit for LED support, scenic frames, work platforms and custom technical layouts.

Safety and approval: equipment ownership does not replace the rigging plot, load review, manufacturer limits, venue approval, engineering or licensed work required for the specific project.

Faster load-in.
Safer access.
More work in parallel.

For large-format LED walls, the support and assembly method can influence the production schedule as much as the number of panels. GLMedia stocks original Unilumin ground-support systems—also described as ground-stacked LED support when the wall is built from the floor—for compatible Unilumin LED families. Using the manufacturer’s original rear frames, braces, quick connections, service platforms and guardrails provides a documented, manufacturer-matched system basis instead of an improvised generic structure. The modular architecture can reduce repeated handling and allow qualified technicians to work simultaneously on cabinet connection, alignment, power, data and inspection. GLMedia owns enough compatible original platform modules to position a rear service platform approximately every 2 m along an approved Unilumin ground-stacked configuration, helping distribute qualified technicians across wide builds. This can shorten load-in, setup and strike, reduce dependence on one ladder or lift, and maintain organized rear access during service. Original hardware supports compatibility and technical traceability; the final configuration still follows the panel model, wall height, loads, floor capacity, ballast or anchoring, egress, fall protection, engineering and venue approval.

01 · INSTALLATION TIME

Parallel work instead of one serial work point

With rear support frames, quick connections and continuous access behind the wall, technicians can be assigned to different sections of a large canvas at the same time. Cabinet connection, data and power dressing, alignment, inspection and service preparation do not have to wait for one ladder or one lift to move from bay to bay. The result can be a shorter build and strike window, especially on wide ballroom, convention and arena screens.

02 · SAFETY AND ACCESS

Platforms and guardrails behind the screen

Compatible Unilumin ground-support structures can incorporate rear platforms, braces and guardrails so qualified technicians have a defined work position instead of repeatedly climbing and repositioning loose ladders. This can reduce exposure to ladder work, improve access to upper cabinets and cable paths, and support more orderly inspection and maintenance. The final work-at-height method, fall protection and crew limits still follow the approved plan and venue rules.

03 · HOTEL LOGISTICS

Modular pieces can travel through service elevators

Modular Unilumin support components and 6x6 aluminum ModTruss can be broken into shorter pieces that are easier to route through service corridors, turns and elevators. In hotels without a freight elevator large enough for 10 ft aluminum truss, this approach may allow the structure to enter through a standard service elevator and may avoid a forklift or material lift. Elevator-door width, cab depth, rated capacity, floor protection and the complete load-in route are verified before the method is promised.

Planning requirement: GLMedia reviews loading dock access, door and elevator dimensions, cab weight limits, hallway turns, ballroom access, approved work hours, floor protection and the setup/strike window before selecting long truss, modular structure, flown support or ground support.

Frequently asked

LED wall support and rigging

Practical answers for hotels, convention centers, arenas and production partners.

Does GLMedia own the equipment used to fly large LED walls?

GLMedia owns one-ton MODE entertainment chain hoists, controllers, original Unilumin hanging bumpers, certified lifting accessories including slings and shackles, and compatible LED inventory. Certified GLMedia riggers are available for the contracted scope; venue-appointed or licensed providers are integrated when required by the venue or jurisdiction.

Can a large LED wall be supported from the floor instead?

Yes, when the approved design and venue conditions allow it. Original Unilumin ground-support components, rear frames, platforms, guardrails and quick connections can create organized rear access for multiple qualified technicians and reduce dependence on ladders or lifts. GLMedia owns enough compatible original platform modules to position a rear service platform approximately every 2 m along an approved Unilumin ground-stacked configuration, helping distribute qualified technicians across wide builds. Dimensions, ballast, floor loading, egress, fall protection and engineering are reviewed per project.

Can modular LED support enter a hotel through a service elevator without a forklift?

Often, yes, when the access survey confirms it. Modular Unilumin ground-support components and 6x6 aluminum ModTruss can be separated into shorter pieces that are easier to move through service corridors and elevators than 10 ft aluminum truss sections. In some hotels this can allow load-in through a standard service elevator and avoid a forklift or material lift, reducing handling, coordination and setup time. It is not automatic: GLMedia verifies door width, elevator-cab depth, rated capacity, hallway turns, floor protection, loading rules and the complete route before confirming the method.

What truss systems does GLMedia stock?

GLMedia stocks Tyler Truss 12x12 bolt-together sections in 10 ft, 8 ft and 5 ft lengths with cubes, bases, bolt sets and dedicated dollies; James Thomas Engineering (Thomas Truss) 12x12 sections; Global Truss components; and 6x6 aluminum ModTruss modular components. Exact series, connection types and quantities are confirmed for the quote. Components from different manufacturers are not assumed interchangeable, and structural use follows the correct manufacturer data and approved plan.
