Robe LEDBeam 350: panel, runway and color tests

Prepare coverage by zone and compare color with the actual camera; confirm each fixture’s variant, mode and settings.

Model and application

A moving wash/beam fixture for proposed stage zones and effects. This preparation addresses the standard LEDBeam 350; identify differences before using FW, EP or FW EP variants. The consulted official English manual is V2.6; it does not establish the software installed in a rental unit.

For a panel, assess useful light at every seat and head turn. For a runway, check endpoints and zone changes. Room size alone does not determine fixture count, and movement capability does not imply automatic tracking.

Functions and connections

The manual distinguishes 22-, 16- and 24-channel modes; the console personality must match. Do not select solely by a similar library name.

Ethernet applies to EP variants; do not assume it is present on a standard unit. Identify power and signal routes from labels and actual connectors.

Retain a documentation ambiguity: V2.6 contains RGBA references and White channels. Confirm engine, variant and applicable chart before copying mixes; this page does not treat those references as emitter equivalence.

Proposed preparation

  1. Mark seats or movement routes and required camera shots. With mounting approved and movement clear, prepare stable light before adding effects.
  2. Match variant, version, mode and address at fixture and console. Test one unit over a known data route before expanding the system.
  3. Test aim and zoom with a person at each mark, looking forward and sideways. Adjust dark zones and overlaps without blindly raising the entire rig.
  4. Compare white and color at agreed camera exposure, one source at a time. Record settings and transitions; save a useful recovery state and assign its operator.

Questions and troubleshooting

Why is one seat darker at the same dimmer level?

Coverage and angle may differ. The same percentage does not establish equal light on a face.

  1. Compare position, zoom and obstructions in the same scene. Check head turns and endpoints from the planned cameras.
  2. GLMedia can evaluate another position, separate zones or fixed face lighting while retaining LEDBeam effects. Test before committing to fixture count.
Why does color differ between fixtures or cameras?

Separate source, configuration and camera first. Do not start by rewriting every palette or changing factory calibration.

  1. Identify the variant and resolve the RGBA/White ambiguity against its chart. Compare mode, virtual/direct mixing and received values before changing the show.
  2. Isolate a source and repeat with common balance and exposure, including low levels and transitions. The manual reserves Cal Col for factory use. Save the agreed result without promising a perfect match.
Does a network or radio link prove the fixture is ready?

Transport and personality behavior require separate checks.

  1. Confirm the variant has the required hardware, then check mode and address. A fitting connector does not establish installed functionality.
  2. If behavior differs, isolate one unit over known DMX and record the symptom. Equipment supply, control preparation and operation can be evaluated separately.
