Identity and system selection
DM7 Compact mixes 72 mono inputs; it is not the 120-input full-size DM7. Mixing channels, local sockets and Dante channels are separate resources. Record console/Dante firmware, rack, cards and enabled options before selecting by source count. A supported remote rack can relocate I/O without unlimited mix capacity.
Case 09: multiple conference programs
- List sources and buses for room, monitors, remote link and recording. Exclude each remote return from its own send; include it in program where needed. Define pre/post and mute per destination.
- Save file and scene order. Check Focus, Recall Safe and remote preamp recall scope before speaker changes. A saved scene does not prove every parameter will be recalled.
- Rehearse two programs and record/play a sample. If one mix loses speech, follow channel, bus, patch and output before replacing the file.
Case 10: Dante and clocking in a mixed system
- Record each node model/sample rate, intended clock source and primary/secondary networks. Do not join redundant networks or force a leader as a generic fix.
- Check Dante state and subscription, then input-channel and output patch. Control/Editor visibility does not prove audio routing or clock.
- Record message, versions and meters; protect outputs for agreed off-program changes. Use the common Dante guide without copying another mixer’s menus.

Compare Compact, full-size DM7 or another mixer, rack/interface, scene preparation and operation. Start with date, venue, approximate voices and destinations; confirm components, options and necessary tests in the proposal.

Does visible Dante mean audio is ready?
No. Check subscription, format/clock and model-specific input/output patch; listen at every destination.
Can one scene serve all programs?
If routing and scope are defined. For substantial changes, prepare scenes and controlled recovery in rehearsal.
