PIXERA software: prepare the project, resources, timeline and destinations

A project may show content in its working view while an output server still needs media or an assignment. Prepare the complete path before selecting a configuration: which file is used, when it must play and where it needs to appear.

Set the version and scope before preparing the project

Specific reference: PIXERA 26.1 R52, published October 8, 2026 in the official changelog. Record the installed version, Windows version, GPU, driver, license and role of each machine. General interface and distribution help does not identify a revision per section; compare it with that environment.

Preserve the original project and save a preparation copy. Define expected resolution and frame rate, displays, audio path and cue calls. Confirm licensing and required equipment separately; opening a project does not establish output availability.

Separate the file, clip and destination

In Compositing, Resources holds imported content and Timelines organizes sequences. The timeline places content on Screens and other project objects.

Use this preparation path: approved file → resource → clip and cue → project screen → server and output → physical receiver. Identify every connection with actual names and destinations. Compare virtual geometry with the map supplied by the display lead.

Replace content while keeping a traceable handover

The official File Versioning article, labeled 25.2 INTER 38, describes explicit version selection per resource and filename matching through configured suffixes. Another file arriving does not automatically change the resource. Compare these controls with the reference 26.1 R52 installation; check the control names before following the procedure.

Proposed scenario: a revised opening arrives. Preserve the approved file and record name, path, hash, duration, resolution, frame rate and audio for both. Identify the resource and clips using it. A missing file requires locating its path; a new version requires deciding which file is approved. Avoid renaming files to hide that distinction.

Before changing it, agree on timing and a return to the previous version. Then check the selected version, availability on each machine and affected cue: start, end and audio. Save a copy and reopen it in the intended environment. Record observed results; a completed transfer alone does not establish the content shown on the display.

Three questions before considering playback ready

Is the resource available on its playback machine? Check the Resource Distribution rule: it may depend on import or timeline use. Verify transfer and availability on each machine; importing on the preparation station is insufficient.

Does pausing the timeline also stop the video? 26.1 — Clip Play Modes distinguishes time-locked and free playback. Record the mode and rehearse pause, re-entry into the clip and the ending; do not infer behavior from cursor position alone.

Does the display receive the intended content? Compare screen identity, resource, clip, format and destination in the project and at the receiver. Test a labeled image and recognizable movement. If the receiver stays black, record the last point with a picture before investigating the next stage.

Proposed scenario: a main display and two side areas

For a presentation, propose an opening on the main display, holding backgrounds on the sides and a called closing cue. Before building the sequence, complete one row per destination: name, aspect ratio, resolution, content, cue and delivery state. Do not assume three physical connections; the design and equipment may use a shared canvas or independent destinations.

Rehearse opening, speaker pause, resumption and closing with the expected audio. Record first and last frames, observed display, file version and result. Return to the agreed background and save the reviewed copy. Check performance and synchronization under the expected workload and record the scope of the rehearsal.

Choose the scope and consult the hardware guides

If you only need to call videos to one destination, compare the required workflow before adding complexity. If you need surfaces, multiple sequences or distribution between machines, describe those requirements when evaluating PIXERA.

PIXERA four GEN2 and the four-input, four-output server have separate hardware guides. Their connections do not apply to every software license.

Prepare your project

Tell us which content needs to reach each display. Photos, a sketch or a draft running order let us review destinations, media and operation before equipment models or dimensions are final. GLMedia can help plan equipment rental or purchase, integration and technical support for the project.
