Not traditional CO₂
How a smoke jet works without a CO₂ cylinder.
Traditional CO₂ jets discharge gas from pressurized cylinders. SONICBOOM uses electrical heaters and compatible fog fluid to create a fast-dissipating plume without that cylinder. To prepare the effect, we review power and placement with the venue and define the operator and operating conditions.
No compressed CO₂ cylinder
The cited SONICBOOM configurations use fog fluid. Cylinder transport, manifolds and high-pressure CO₂ supply are not part of this effect.
Integrated illuminated plume
Built-in LED arrays can color or highlight the smoke column, with channel control dependent on the selected model.
Repeatable show cues
DMX control supports coordinated hits with music, lighting, LED content, countdowns and show control after programming and rehearsal.
Quick-dissipating fluid
Showven FX-S is formulated for vertical smoke-jet systems and fast dissipation. Only compatible, approved fluid is used in the actual machine.
Power must be planned
High heater loads require confirmed voltage, dedicated distribution where needed, correct connectors and an approved power plan.
Venue approval still matters
Fire alarms, HVAC, residue concerns, floor protection, clearances, ceiling height and local policies are reviewed before operation.

No water, pigment, scent or unapproved fluid is added. The exact consumable is matched to the confirmed model and machine condition.

Venue approval and go/no-go
Fire alarms, HVAC, weather, surface conditions and venue policies can alter or cancel the effect. The final cue is released only under approved conditions.

Does SONICBOOM use CO₂?
The cited SONICBOOM X, Plus and Jet are CO₂-jet simulators powered by compatible fog fluid and electrical heating. They create a similar fast plume without a compressed CO₂ cylinder.
Will it trigger the venue’s fire alarm?
Fog can affect some detection systems. Written venue approval and coordination with fire-alarm, HVAC and life-safety teams are required; disabling a system is never assumed.
Can the jets be synchronized with music?
Yes. DMX or show control can trigger single hits, chases and programmed sequences. Final timing follows the selected model’s limits and a full rehearsal.
Can the machines be installed upside down?
Only when the exact model/version, manual, mounting method, fluid-tank configuration and qualified rigging review explicitly permit it. Ground-positioned vertical operation is the default request.
Can I rent the machines without an operator?
We can assess equipment-only rental for a qualified production provider. We review with their team how they will handle power, fluid, control, safety, and venue coordination, and document those agreed tasks before confirming the rental. For other events, we quote the technical operation appropriate to the effect.
