Event power planning

Booth power: information for the venue electrical contractor

Ordering booth power requires locating loads and agreeing on the service boundary. Requested capacity and distribution within the exhibit are related decisions.

Prepare a simple layout and load list

Separate the request from included services

Confirm voltage, frequency, allocated capacity and whether the order covers only delivery or also internal distribution, materials and labor. Ask about deadlines and who may perform each task under this show’s rules. One venue’s conditions do not transfer to another.

Compare moving equipment closer to a documented handoff with additional distribution. A power strip does not add circuit capacity, and overnight service is not automatic.

If the design is still evolving

Send usage zones and confirmed loads, marking alternatives and missing information. Ask the contractor what is needed to finalize the order and authorize installation; a preliminary sketch is enough to start the discussion.

Planning questions

Does the AV order include electricity?

Check each written scope. Equipment, electrical delivery and booth distribution may involve different providers or conditions.

Should I order in watts or amperes?

Use the form’s unit and voltage, with the load list. Do not convert W to A without the necessary inputs.

Can I move displays later?

Report their new locations; routes, distribution and labor may change. Do not treat the previous drawing as current.

Sources and scope

Technical reference documentation. Venue staff and a qualified professional review its application to the actual installation.

Before finalizing the supply, confirm venue and local authority requirements in the United States, or utility and local requirements for an event in Argentina. Confirm the actual site’s electrical configuration regardless of this guide’s language.
