Hard Rock Stadium: installation drawings and permits in Miami Gardens

Hard Rock Stadium is at 347 Don Shula Drive, Miami Gardens, Miami-Dade County, Florida. This guide helps prepare installation documents; suspension points, loads, connections and available services must be confirmed for the booked space.

Which location and space should I identify first?

Use the Hard Rock Stadium address in Miami Gardens to identify the project file. This is separate from Hard Rock Live or Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Broward. The booking should identify the field, club or exact sector, load-in and removal dates, and areas available for equipment and circulation.

The stadium website offers events in private clubs and on the field; that does not establish the same infrastructure for both. Request the booked space’s drawing and conditions. A drawing showing spectator seats alone is missing the production layout with access, stage and equipment.

Which approvals should I separate before quoting?

The municipal FAQ links special-event assessment to safety, traffic and impacts beyond the property. Work with the organizer and management to identify existing authorizations that cover the activity and any additional reviews needed. Do not assume every private stadium event follows the same permit process.

What can I specify before receiving roof or floor load information?

Prepare the equipment inventory, weights, dimensions and proposed positions, but leave points and supports open until you receive the stadium’s technical drawing. The municipal package does not establish the allowable load of its roof or the contracted floor.

For a flown LED wall or sound system, request point IDs, allowable loads and combined-loading restrictions. For a ground-supported structure, request limits per support, surface protection, ballast and access conditions. Attendance capacity or field area cannot establish those capacities. If the proposed installation is not accepted, revise the design with the technical lead before reserving supports or hoists.

Does the municipal package include sound towers, lighting towers and stages?

Yes. Building Services’ Special Event Package lists stages, platforms and lighting or sound towers among temporary structures. Its Building Verification Form calls for a site plan showing property boundaries, streets, existing buildings, temporary structure dimensions and positions, occupancy and restrooms.

The package is labeled Revised 10-01-2017 and describes events lasting 30 days or less. Confirm with Building Services whether that process applies to the installation and which forms and code editions are currently required. Do not turn the 30-day duration into a submission deadline or treat the historical NFPA 102 reference as confirmation of the current standard. Mark existing elements separately from additions for the event.

What should I confirm before connecting LED, audio or lighting?

Prepare the load schedule by system and request the sector’s power assignment: voltage, phases, available current, distribution, connection point and authorized responsible party. Check that the electrical drawing covers the same sector and installation revision; a space booking does not automatically assign a supply.

The municipal package separates structural verification from individual trades; page 5 includes ELECTRICAL / bd-etw Specialty Wiring. That form neither identifies stadium connections nor authorizes a provider to make them. Confirm who submits documents, connects, inspects and removes each system. If the assignment is missing, leave the connection pending and correct the service order before load-in.

How should I prepare drawings and supporting files for Miami Gardens CSS?

The municipal electronic-submittal checklist separates three groups: architect or engineer documents with a secure electronic signature; signed and notarized PDF forms; and supporting information without a signature, also in PDF. Organize drawings by discipline—for example site, architectural, structural, electrical and fire alarm—and name calculations and product approvals so they can be identified.

The checklist requires digital signatures on drawings prepared by a licensed professional. An image of a signature pasted into a PDF does not establish that the file retains that digital signature. Request the professional’s final files and check signature validation before submitting through the channel specified by Building Services.

What if weight, position or cable routing changes?

Keep the accepted version and prepare an identified revision showing equipment, weight, position, power distribution or circulation changes. Ask stadium management and the affected disciplines to determine what needs renewed review. Do not carry out the change using acceptance of the earlier drawing.

For municipal corrections or resubmittals, the electronic checklist requires the complete batched drawing set, including all sheets, plus a response to review comments—not just corrected sheets. Coordinate required signatures and documents with the professional. Until the revision is accepted, retain the earlier design if it remains valid for the event; otherwise leave the affected portion uninstalled.

What changes if load-in occupies a street or outdoor access route?

Draw the gate, route, unloading area, production parking and public separation. The municipal Request for Special Event checklist includes a site plan, route map, Maintenance of Traffic Plan (M.O.T.) and commercial property-owner consent among potentially applicable items.

Its street-closure section includes Public Works, Police and Miami-Dade Fire reviews. Establish with those departments whether the route remains on the property or affects a public road and which process applies. A stadium parking space or unloading slot does not replace authorization to occupy or close a street. If the route changes, update the drawing and coordination before moving vehicles.

Frequently asked questions

Are the form’s 15 working days the general deadline for any stadium event?

No. Request for Special Event ties 15 working days to applications referred to Police for Public Music-Broadcast. This is not a general deadline for engineering, rigging, fire review or stadium acceptance. The document also includes fees and operating-hour restrictions whose current application and scope need confirmation for the activity; request a schedule for each process without promising approval within that period.

Can I include lasers, haze or pyrotechnics in the scope?

You can describe a proposal for review without treating it as authorized. Identify the equipment, class or material, location, emission direction, schedule and test conditions. Request for Special Event asks about pyrotechnics and fireworks, but does not authorize operation or resolve lasers or haze by itself. Ask the stadium and assigned authority which documents and permits apply. Until those are available, keep the effect out of the operating program and price the required review separately.

Does private professional review replace every permit and check?

No. The 2017 municipal package limits that review to building-code compliance and excludes fire, land-use and environmental codes from its scope. Confirm the current procedure and forms with Building Services before choosing that route. Structural review does not assign exclusive services, stadium crew or effects approval; record each acceptance and its conditions separately.

Official documentation

Official sources checked October 18, 2026. Special Event Package: labeled revision 10-01-2017, 9 pages; confirm the applicable process and forms. Request for Special Event: 6 pages, no visible revision. Building Services’ electronic checklist describes CSS submission.
