Rocket Arena, Cleveland: rigging, load-in and technical review

Rocket Arena is at 1 Center Court in Cleveland, Ohio. The venue announced its current name in 2025; earlier names include Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Quicken Loans Arena and Gund Arena. These names identify the same arena for production planning.

Which document applies, and how are its pages referenced?

The venue-authored packet is distributed by Venue Coalition, a venue consultancy; the distributor does not approve engineering. The hosting path contains 2019, and file metadata indicates 2020, without certifying an applicable operating revision.

Page references in this guide count PDF pages from the cover, rather than printed footer numbers. The current website confirms identity and commercial offerings; private-event capacities, furniture and Wi-Fi establish neither structural ratings nor contracted touring services.

How should underground access and truck holding be advanced?

Pages 5–7 place load-in access on Bolivar Road; this operational address differs from the venue’s public address. The plan distinguishes parking, maneuvering and emergency access, rather than reserving spaces for your tour.

Request a current route with width, clear height, slopes, turning radii, levelers and vehicle sequence. No route clearance or load rating is verified here. Coordinate actual truck and freight dimensions, marshals, credentials and schedules.

How should underground access and truck holding be advanced?
Segment / PDF sourcePacket referenceWhat to confirm
Load-in entrance, pp. 5–7758 Bolivar Road; underground access.Authorized route and clearances.
Off-site holding, pp. 5 and 7Erie Court and Sumner Avenue with permits.Current authorization and availability.
Maneuvering and emergency access, p. 6Separate Fire Truck Access and Truck Swing Space.Accepted plan; keep required areas clear.

What does the rigging plan show, and what remains unresolved?

Pages 8 and 11 distinguish catwalks, curtains, spotlight positions, trusses and the scoreboard. The drawing uses center-to-center and edge-to-edge dimensions in different areas; do not interchange those references or treat a catwalk line as a suspension point.

No per-point WLL or residual project capacity was validated from this packet. Request current CAD and load tables, dead loads, reactions, combined loads, obstructions and scoreboard/curtain positions. Venue production and engineering must accept points, motors, access and rescue arrangements.

How do stage configuration and floor ratings differ?

Pages 9–10 show South End Stage and Center Stage with different stage, audience and FOH arrangements. They support configuration comparisons but do not certify final dimensions, egress routes or floor capacity for your design.

Request uniform, concentrated and wheel-load limits, ice conditions, protection, support reactions and spreader plates. Reserve staging, forklifts and operators for actual loads. A drawn position or commercial audience capacity does not authorize a support or setup.

How should power zones be read without adding availability?

Pages 18–20 describe three-phase 208 V panels and distinguish south stage, north, marshalling and the area labeled USA. The table summarizes historical references, rather than reserved circuits or simultaneous available demand.

Confirm the single-line diagram, shared or independent feeds, assignments, demand, phases, neutral/ground, protection, connectors and connection responsibilities. Do not add marshalling and USA as extra capacity without clarifying their relationship; Cam-Loc in one area does not define every connector.

How should power zones be read without adding availability?
Area / PDF sourcePublished referenceUnresolved scope
South, p. 182400 A labeled per side; 4 × 400 A and 4 × 200 A per side.Assigned supply and demand.
North, p. 19NE VOM and NW VOM: 200 A each.Available circuits and routing.
Marshalling, p. 204 × 200 A; 13 × 50 A.Distribution, breakouts and authorized use.
USA area, p. 208 × 200 A Cam-Loc; 18 × 50 A for buses.Relationship to other areas and actual reservation.

How should LED content be prepared without adopting an old template?

Pages 15–16 distinguish a 4416 × 40 pixel lower ribbon from a 20208 × 40 pixel upper ribbon. The lower ribbon has STAT-area breaks; do not place messages or logos across those breaks without a current content map.

These dimensions and formats are background, rather than current delivery specifications. Request templates, enabled zones, color profile, formats, rights, programming and an operator-assisted test. Confirm scoreboard geometry and position; no packet reference guarantees touring visibility or clearance.

What needs confirmation for audio, spots, communications and labor?

Pages 8 and 17 show spotlight positions and describe historical PA, control and video systems. They do not establish current availability, touring coverage or included equipment. Agree on patches, operation, RF, intercom, content and tests with named owners.

Request applicable staffing, jurisdictions, minimums, costs and providers in the current contract. No exclusivity or permission for outside operators was verified. Public Wi-Fi and commercial connectivity do not guarantee dedicated networking, bandwidth, ports or transmission support.

What needs acceptance for production, effects and responsibilities?

Track open items for document revision, rig plot, floor, load-in, power, systems, labor, schedule, insurance and owners. Distinguish venue acceptance, organizer responsibilities and contract commitments. This worksheet certifies neither availability nor approvals.

Guest rules on page 21 are not a professional-equipment access procedure. Request production terms and, for haze, pyrotechnics or other effects, current venue and authority requirements. No permits or alarm intervention are validated here; as a technical recommendation, test the agreed setup.

Frequently asked questions

Does the name change certify a new Tech Pack revision?

No. Current identity and the packet under the former name are separate evidence. The venue must confirm current revisions, ratings, inventory and terms.

Does a catwalk or rigging plan authorize a suspension point?

No. Obtain WLLs, combined loads, reactions and acceptance of the specific design from venue and engineering leads.

Can I add panels from every zone to reserve power?

No. First confirm feeds, available demand, shared services and circuits actually assigned to the project.
