Eissey Campus Theatre: availability and audiovisual setup

Eissey Campus Theatre is part of Palm Beach State College’s Palm Beach Gardens campus in Palm Beach County. This guide helps prepare a technical inquiry for that theater; it does not establish availability or previous GLMedia work at the venue.

First: confirm the venue, date and reopening conditions

The rental page lists 750 seats and a minimum lead time of 90 days for contractual requirements. These are planning references, not a reservation or reopening guarantee. Request written confirmation for your date and required spaces.

The published physical address is 11051 Campus Drive, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. Do not use the college’s general Lake Worth address to ship equipment to this theater. Identify the authority responsible for work on campus by its jurisdiction, not just the ZIP code.

Separate available systems, staffing and extras

The technical manual was revised in July 2020; the rate sheet is dated 02/28/2023. Agree on which inventory and revision still apply after repairs. A published equipment list does not establish availability or inclusion in your contract.

The rate sheet separates building rental from separately quoted operators. When comparing proposals, distinguish system use, technicians, setup, rehearsal, performance and load-out. Request the current sound, lighting, video and projection scope, and identify any outside equipment.

Prepare audio inputs, monitor requirements, playback, cameras and recording or streaming destinations. Identify who supplies each signal, who may connect to house systems and who accepts testing. A listed camera or switcher does not imply recording, rights or internet service are included.

Rigging and power: published capacity versus allocation

The manual gives 700 lb as the maximum per utility batten. That is not a free allowance for a screen: the specific batten, load distribution and existing equipment need review. The lineset schedule marks sets that cannot be stripped or moved with #.

Production power is listed as 500 A, 120/208 V, three-phase. Do not size a setup from that figure alone. The electrical lead needs to confirm the assigned supply, connectors, protection and who connects and disconnects it.

These are preparation recommendations. An exclusive provider, approved additional load or authorized system operator for your event has not been confirmed.

Distinguish public access from technical loading

The stage entrance and dock are identified on the east side toward the south end of the building. Ask the theater to confirm the route and its condition after repairs before dispatching the truck.

Check package dimensions, route, level changes and maneuvering space against the current plan. Mark cameras, control, cables and supports without occupying accessible routes or exits. Agree on load-in, rehearsal, performance, load-out and restoration times; document any authorized storage.

A fog machine on a rate sheet is not authorization

The historical rate sheet includes haze and fog. That does not establish current availability or authorize use during or after repairs. Request written conditions for the specific effect and its relationship to detection, sprinklers and building operation.

For lasers, pyrotechnics or other effects, define the equipment, consumable, operator, location and sequence. Separate venue permission from any required permit or inspection. Do not disable or alter fire protection as a production workaround.

Insurance, pricing and project revisions

The 2019 insurance sheet calls for documentation 30 days before first use. Confirm current requirements, additional insureds and certificate address with the theater and your insurer. The attached example belongs to another event and is not your coverage.

Request a dated quotation detailing hours, crew, services, taxes and surcharges. The old rate sheet figures are not presented here as current prices.

Frequently asked questions

Does this guide announce that Eissey has reopened?

No. This guide dates the closure notice observed. Check the official homepage and obtain confirmation for your event; a calendar date alone does not confirm technical conditions.

Can a proposal be prepared while the venue is being confirmed?

Yes, with identified assumptions and alternatives. Committing to equipment and crew requires an accepted venue, technical scope and applicable restrictions.

Do conditions from other PBSC theaters apply here?

Not automatically. Duncan, Stage West and Dolly Hand are different spaces. Their loads, access, systems or approvals do not transfer to Eissey.

What should I send if I do not know equipment models yet?

The date, program, expected audience, picture and sound needs, and documents received from the theater. Mark what is confirmed and what depends on availability; models can be selected later.
