Hilton Anatole Dallas: rooms, CAD and event rigging
Hilton Anatole includes ballrooms, meeting rooms and outdoor areas. Hilton’s current page publishes configurations; Encore maintains a hotel-specific page with room resources. This guide separates current information, general standards and a 2020 rigging PDF that needs reconfirmation.
1. Room and configuration
Hilton lists spaces in East Atrium, Grand Atrium, Tower, West Wing, Trinity Complex and other areas. Identify the contracted ballroom, division, floor and configuration before sizing stage, screen, FOH and aisles. Banquet or theatre capacity does not determine production capacity.
2. Sources and currency
Encore’s current hotel page confirms an on-site team and offers CAD resources for Chantilly, Grand, Imperial, Stemmons and Trinity. Its local 2020 PDF uses PSAV branding and historical prices/deadlines; treat those rules as background and obtain current terms in writing. General Encore standards replace neither hotel CAD nor contract.
| Source | Provides | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Hilton Events | Rooms and marketing capacities | Does not approve production |
| Encore Anatole | Room CAD resources | Confirm version and loads |
| Encore Standards | Current rigging process | Apply to event |
| Local 2020 PDF | Venue background | Reconfirm terms |
3. Room rigging
The local 2020 PDF describes permanent points in several ballrooms, beams in Trinity and no hanging from air-wall tracks. Configurations may have changed. Request current CAD for the exact room, including location, working loads and installation limits, from the rigging lead. Never transfer Grand point data to Imperial or Trinity.
4. Plot and review
Current Encore standards require a request before quoting, point and truss load review, a reflected ceiling plan and DWG, DXF or VWX drawings. They call for submission at least 21 days before load-in. Obtain technical approval for the final version from the rigging team; room, load or design changes require another review.
5. Flown or ground-supported LED
For flown LED, document cabinet, structure, motor and cable weights plus redundancy. Encore calls for a safety backup and says a video wall may not hang from a single truss chord. For ground support, calculate base, ballast and floor loading with the responsible specialist; an overhead plan does not approve floor support.
6. Power, network and AV
The hotel-specific Encore page offers AV, internet and power distribution, but does not publish per-room available capacity, assigned circuits, bandwidth or a blanket AV exclusive. Obtain proposals and conditions from hotel, Encore and contract separately before finalizing power or streaming.
| Topic | Prepare | Confirm with |
|---|---|---|
| Overhead rigging | CAD, plot and loads | Encore and hotel |
| Ground LED | Base, ballast and floor | Engineer and venue |
| Network and power | Demand and service | Provider and contract |
| Logistics | Dock, route and hours | Hotel |
7. Access and protection
The 2020 PDF mentions carpet protection, cable crossings and indoor lifts; it does not establish current routes, hours or policies. Request current dock, elevator, room route, protection, load-in windows and supervision from the hotel. Park and outdoor plans also need weather, anchorage and authority review.
8. Review package
Submit contract and room, configuration, current CAD, plot and point calculations, LED/audio/lighting inventory, power, network, cable route, floor, dock, protection and effects. Distinguish Encore’s response, hotel approval, organizer decisions and authority permits. Keep final written approval.
Frequently asked questions
Does the hotel’s 2020 PDF confirm today’s rules?
No. It is pre-planning background. Encore’s current hotel page and general standards inform the process, but room, points, provider, rates and contract need current confirmation.
Does downloadable CAD authorize hanging the screen?
No. Submit plot and loads to Encore and hotel review, use validated CAD for the room, and await design and event approval.
