When is projection better than LED?
Projection can be effective in controlled-light ballrooms, breakout rooms and presentation environments where screen size, rigging or budget favors a projected image. LED is often stronger in high ambient light, short throw constraints or camera-heavy events. A hybrid design may use a main LED canvas with projection or flat displays in secondary spaces.
Confidence monitors, cue lights and presenter timers ＋
Confidence monitors show slides, notes or remote participants without turning the presenter away from the audience. Timers help speakers follow the schedule. Our DSAN PerfectCue Micro cue systems provide wireless presentation control. We confirm the transmitter, computer connections and cue operation for each setup, and can integrate these tools with playback, switching and show calling.
Breakout and distributed display planning
Corporate programs often require several rooms to share branding, presentations or remote speakers. We can plan projectors, screens, displays, signal distribution and monitoring for main sessions and breakouts. Final quantities depend on room plans, cable paths, available power, staffing and the venue network.
What information is needed?
Provide room dimensions, ceiling height, ambient-light conditions, audience layout, screen position, content aspect ratio, camera requirements and available rigging. Exact projector specifications and lenses are selected only after throw distance and brightness needs are confirmed.

How do we keep slides readable from the back of the room?
Send a sample presentation and the seating plan. We review screen dimensions, the farthest viewer, text size, contrast and any camera image sharing the screen. A finer pixel pitch alone cannot fix a slide filled with tiny text. Depending on the room, a larger display, simpler slide layout or additional screens may be more useful.
Can I connect my own laptop to the screen?
Usually, after we confirm its output and the selected video system. Tell us the laptop model, connector, presentation software and whether the files include audio or protected playback. We identify adapters, cable lengths and any backup source required. Schedule a test with the actual computer; matching connector shapes alone does not guarantee a working signal.
Is decorative lighting enough for speakers and cameras?
Not always. Uplighting and scenic color serve a different purpose from lighting a face clearly. Tell us where speakers stand, whether they move and whether the event is filmed. We plan fixture positions, color and control with the camera and LED setup. The quote should distinguish room decoration from stage and presenter lighting.
Why does a presentation look stretched or cropped on a screen?
The source image and display area may have different proportions, or the processor may be using the wrong sizing mode. Scaling changes the image’s pixel dimensions. Keeping its proportions can leave unused space; filling the whole screen can require cropping; stretching can distort faces, circles and logos. A 4K file does not remove that choice. Send a sample slide or video and the intended screen layout before the final export. We agree which area must stay visible and test the selected fit with the actual playback source. Enlarging a low-resolution image also cannot recover detail that is missing from the original.
Should I choose an LED wall or projection for a conference?
Start with the room and the presentation. LED can be useful when light falls on the display or when a projector beam would cross an aisle or the stage. Projection can still be a good choice when the room lighting can be controlled and there is a suitable lens position and screen. Compare the complete installation: image size, readability from the last row, projection distance, support, power, access and labor. For a wide backdrop, both approaches need content prepared for the chosen proportions; projection may also require blending more than one projector. Neither option makes small text readable by itself. Send the seating plan, room photos and a sample slide, and we can compare practical configurations rather than choose by technology alone.
Can transparent LED, projection and stage lighting work in the same show?
They can, but each needs a defined role. Transparent LED can display an image while leaving parts of the set behind it visible. How well that works depends on the panel design, viewing angle, video content and the light falling on both layers. A transparency percentage alone does not describe the result the audience will see. Projection normally needs its own suitable surface and a clear beam path; do not assume an open LED panel will behave like a projection screen. Video and lighting teams should agree on screen positions, projector paths, brightness balance and cues, then test representative scenes together. Send the stage drawing and the effect you want to achieve. A transparent LED configuration requires a separate equipment, support and availability check before it can be quoted.
