High stools: seat, back and foot support

Two stools from the same collection may have different seat heights. Choose the stool together with its table or counter, taking into account who will use it and how long the activity will last.

Seat height identifies the version

Coalesse lists a 26.25 in seat height for the Enea Lottus Sled Stool Counter Height and 30 in for Bar Height (about 66.7 and 76.2 cm). These dimensions refer to the seat, not the top of the backrest. Confirm which version the supplier is offering.

Compare seat height with both tabletop height and the clear space below it. Request a drawing that includes legs and crossbars. The spacing needs to be reviewed for the particular models and the people using them.

Back and foot support belong in the selection

Explain whether the user will speak, take notes, hold a microphone or move for a demonstration. Request seat depth, back shape and footrest position. Do not add bars or supports that are not compatible manufacturer accessories.

Ask the organizer whether anyone needs different support or a different way to access the seat. Include a lower seating option when needed and review it with the person using it. Give that information to the supplier before confirming the order.

Confirm finish, condition and transport

Ask for seat and base finishes, care instructions and delivery configuration. Do not assume it stacks because a chair in the same collection does. Storage and transport require documentation for the actual stool.

If stools will be used on a stage, send their specifications to the stage provider. Review participant posture, planned microphones and sightlines with camera and sound teams. Placement and circulation are addressed in the event floor plan.

Tell us which table will go with the stool

Start with a photo of the pairing or a simple drawing. Note any heights you do not yet know; the choice can be reviewed using details for both the stool and its table or counter.

  1. What are the date, city and venue?
  2. What activity will the stools be used for, and how long will it last?
  3. Which table or counter will they accompany, and do you have a photo or specification sheet?
  4. Which seat and table dimensions do you know, and what is their source?
  5. Which back support, footrest or alternative seating needs should be considered?
  6. What initial quantity and finishes are you considering?
  7. Will microphones, screens or other equipment be used from these seats?
  8. Would you like to discuss rental, purchase or supplier coordination, including delivery and pickup?

Frequently asked questions

Which stool height should I compare with the table?

Ask for seat height separately from overall height, which may include the backrest. To compare the two pieces, you also need the table dimensions and clearance below its top. Include participants’ support needs in the request; the stool’s overall height does not settle the seating choice.

Is a high stool always suitable for a panel?

It depends on duration, posture, support, participant needs and the proposed setting. Compare lower seating alternatives as well.

Can I use the stacking limit from a similar chair?

No. Request instructions for the exact model and version. Chairs and stools in the same collection may have different stacking and transport requirements.

What if the participants have not been confirmed?

Keep the seating choice open and ask the organizer which alternatives to include. Once participants are confirmed, review their support and access needs before selecting the model. Appearance can guide the search but cannot settle that choice.

Compare the stool with its table

Send a photo or sketch of the table and stool, even if you are still comparing models. Include the duration, intended use and participant needs. If they will be used for a talk, note any microphone or screen format under consideration.
