Video conversion, transport and confidence for live shows

Choose the signal path around what each screen must show: converting a signal, reaching the stage and creating an independent feed are separate decisions.

Conceptual signal flow

Video or presentation source → Processing and output assigned to the content → Compatible conversion or transport, when needed → Monitor or display using an agreed format

Start with what each person needs to see

List the audience image and the presenter view: current slide, next slide, notes, clock or camera. A program copy works only when that is the requested content. A converter does not generate notes or the next slide.

Convert or extend a signal

When the content is already correct, choose the path by interface, format and link endpoints.

Prepare stage confidence feeds

When the presenter needs a different image, generate it first and then plan its route to the monitor.

Apply a processor or choose equipment

Once the content is defined, check destinations, resources and ports on the actual unit. The PIXELHUE guide leads to individual model pages.

Identify the missing function

Identify the missing function
ConversionHDMI and SDI need an active device in the correct direction. Matching connectors do not confirm format compatibility.
Scaling and frame rateIf the destination rejects the signal, a documented function must adapt it. MD-HX and MD-LX have different capabilities.
TransportA TX/RX pair must match in protocol, format and power. An RJ45 connector alone does not identify Ethernet.
Independent contentReserve a source and logical destination for each feed; two connectors may carry the same image.

Prepare a useful test

  1. Record model, firmware, full source format and supported monitor inputs.
  2. Test the source directly, then add one stage at a time. Include text, edges, motion and identifiable audio.
  3. Rehearse presentation changes and check from the stage that notes never appear on program.
  4. Save settings and a changeover plan; identify shared failure points in backup paths.

When something fails

If a pattern arrives but the presentation does not, check selection, input format and content. If neither arrives, start with the output, power and path to the monitor. Change one variable per test, off program.

Frequently asked questions

Does a distribution amplifier create different content?

It distributes a signal. Notes or a separate presentation need their own generated content and assigned path.

What helps before the equipment is selected?

A connection photo, the required image on each screen and an approximate distance are enough to start. Exact models and formats follow during system design.
