Questions and troubleshooting

For a single T10 frontfill, do I use T10 PS even with the horn in line array position?

Yes. The manual specifies T10 PS for a single cabinet, including a frontfill with the horn in line array position. Check the physical horn position separately from the amplifier setup.

To change dispersion, rotate the horn 90° through the side openings. No tools or grille removal are needed. As a vertical point source it provides 90° × 35° coverage; in line source configuration, horizontal coverage is 105°.

Before mounting the cabinet, identify the hardware and check its instructions. An ArrayCalc simulation does not confirm that the installed hardware and physical assembly are correct.

  1. Identify whether each T10 is used alone or as part of an array. Compare the actual horn and lens position with the illustrations on pages 5 and 9 of the manual.
  2. Check the loaded setup before sending audio. For an array, check cabinet geometry and grouping; the table below shows which setup applies to each use.
  3. Listen in the area covered by the fill and at its transition to the main PA, using an agreed test signal and level. If coverage is wrong, check cabinet orientation and the intended coverage area before applying EQ.
With a T10 above a subwoofer at an outdoor show, should I use CUT or HFA?

CUT reduces low frequencies for use with a T-SUB. If using another d&b subwoofer, check the system combination first. HFA reduces high frequencies and is available only with T10 PS; it is intended for close listening or delay applications.

HFA starts to take effect gradually at 1 kHz and reaches about −3 dB at 10 kHz. Choose each function according to the problem it is meant to address.

  1. Identify the subwoofer and how the signal reaches it and the T10. Check that subwoofer’s manual before deciding on the system configuration.
  2. Save the starting settings. Compare HFA off and on with the same signal, level and listening positions. Check whether the near area improves and whether the balance changes elsewhere in the coverage area.
  3. If part of the coverage or a signal path is missing, trace the signal and connections first. Change filters, level and delay separately so you can identify what caused each result.
With a D80 or D12, which pins does a T10 use and how many cabinets can I connect per channel?

For T10 PS, T10 Arc and T10 Line, the manual allows up to four T10 cabinets per channel. The cabinet has a passive crossover and uses 1+/1− on NLT4/NL4. On EP5, pin 1 is positive and pin 2 is negative.

These setups use Dual Channel or Mix TOP/SUB, as applicable to the amplifier. When TOP and SUB share a four-conductor cable, the manual requires Mix TOP/SUB.

  1. Identify the amplifier, firmware, connectors and cabinet count on each output. The maximum above applies to the named setups; ArrayProcessing requires a separate check.
  2. Switch off the amplifier and disconnect the cable at both ends before checking continuity through cables and adapters. Check the subwoofer manual before using the other contacts in a shared cable.
  3. Check each destination separately before reconnecting the full group. If a cabinet does not respond, identify the output, cable and cabinet where the fault appears. Do not raise the level to compensate.

Prepare the setup check

Use one record per T10 to identify its role, horn position, amplifier setup, amplifier and destination. Save the starting configuration and agree on listening positions before making changes.

Enter results after the check, including the mounting hardware and assembly that were verified.

Technical documentation

Before patching or mounting, identify the amplifier firmware, cabinet count, connectors and hardware actually supplied. This guide covers T10; Ti10 variants and rigging accessories require their own manuals.

The per-channel limit above covers T10 PS/Arc/Line. T10 AP and alignment with a subwoofer require separate checks.
