Lecterns and podiums: reading surface and AV integration
A lectern can look fully equipped in a photo yet be offered without a microphone, monitor or reading light. List the furniture and accessories separately, then review what the presenter needs to read notes, speak and control the slides.
Separate outside dimensions from usable surface
AVFI lists LEX30 at 24 7/8 in wide, 25 1/4 in deep and 45 1/4 in high (about 63.2 × 64.1 × 114.9 cm), with flat or wedge top options. Confirm the configuration and usable surface.
List the laptop, notes and accessories the presenter needs to reach. If they need a different height or more room to approach the lectern, request an alternative and review it with them and the organizer. Check access and reach across the complete workstation; the lectern’s outside dimensions alone cannot confirm them.
Identify each accessory and responsible team
List the lectern, microphone, monitor, reading light and presentation control separately in the order. LEX30 offers options for several of those items. Identify the model supplied by each provider and the accessories still to be selected.
Send the AV team a list and specifications for equipment housed inside the furniture. It needs to review available space, connection access, ventilation and power. Rack dimensions help describe the space, but equipment selection still needs that review.
Prepare use, presenter changes and delivery
Agree with the supplier on ready-to-use furniture, compatible accessories and who handles position changes. Coordinate cable paths and connections with their responsible teams without drilling or modifying the lectern.
Agree on delivery time and who receives the lectern. Send the venue the package dimensions and weight, and keep a supplier contact for a different model or missing accessory. The delivery list should make it possible to compare the order with what arrives and record outstanding items.
For several speaking slots, make a list for each presenter: notes or laptop, accessories and support needed. Mark missing details and a contact who can supply them. This lets the AV team prepare presenter changes before the event.
Prepare your lectern and accessories inquiry
A program and reference photo let us start reviewing each presenter’s needs. You do not need to have selected a lectern; tell us what the event is providing and what you would like to discuss.
- What are the date, city and venue?
- How many presenters will use the lectern, for how long and in what order?
- Will they use printed notes, a laptop or other items on the reading surface?
- Who will advance the slides, and how will presentation changes be handled?
- Which microphones, monitor, reading light or controls are planned, and who is providing them?
- Which height, access or alternative presentation position needs should be considered?
- Do you have a program, photo, sketch or model specification sheet to share?
- Are you looking for rental, purchase, AV integration or support during the presentations?

Frequently asked questions
Does a lectern include microphones and sound?
That depends on the agreed configuration. Request a list identifying furniture, accessories and the sound system to establish what remains to coordinate.
Which measurement shows where the presenter’s notes will sit?
Request a drawing identifying the reading surface and its height, as well as the lectern’s overall height. Confirm which top is being offered and whether it is flat or angled. Use those details to discuss the presenter’s needs with the organizer before choosing the model.
Can I inquire before the presenter is confirmed?
Yes. Tell us how the lectern will be used and what is still undecided. We can prepare options and confirm height and access needs once the presenters are known.
What if each presenter brings a laptop?
Tell the AV team and explain who controls the slides and how presenter changes are planned. The team will need to specify connections and support. The order should distinguish the lectern, event-supplied equipment and each presenter’s own devices.
Video and audio for this space

Tell us what the presenter needs
Send a preliminary program, a reference photo and what each presenter will bring to the lectern. You can inquire about microphones, presentations and support before selecting a lectern model. Identify event-supplied equipment and anything you need us to propose.
